The flexible seating has become a favorite option during independent classwork and small-group instruction. Students who would normally struggle to stay focused are now able to channel their energy productively while working. The light-up globe has become an anchor for our geography lessons; students eagerly gather around it during geography warm-ups and reviews, using the additional lights to trace migration routes and highlight regions we are studying. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of students cluster around the glowing globe during atlas scavenger hunt activity, excitedly discovering if their answer was correct on a second source.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless. Several gasped when they noticed the globe lit up, and others immediately asked if the wobble stools were \"really for us to use.\" The new headphones were met with equal excitement because students who need quiet for writing or who use technology supports during lessons were thrilled to have comfortable, working pairs that help them focus.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly thankful for this support. I have often spent heavily out of pocket, and this year has been especially tight for my classroom budget. Thanks to the generosity of the Taylor Rooks Foundation for funding my project completely! My students now have tools that help them feel engaged, supported, and eager to learn. Your donation has truly brightened our classroom, both literally and figuratively, and for that, we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1756003416359,"projectUrl":"project/geography-where-learning-takes-off-hel/9637416/","projectTitle":"Geography: Where Learning Takes Off; Help Fuel a Classroom.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. A","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9850901"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61711","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":860,"numTeachers":87,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":16,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":88.9,"schoolId":61711,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Frank A Day Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Frank A Day Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/newton-public-schools/frank-a-day-middle-school/61711"}
