Students who don't have water bottles at home were able to use the ones that you funded. The hair elastics, pads, and other toiletries are freely and discretely accessible to students at all times. Giving students the ability to take care of themselves reduces disruptions to the class but more importantly, it helps them show up as their full selves with their basic needs met.\r\n\r\nWe have a lot of strong emotions in this age group. Having a welcoming cozy corner, with its calming green rug, has helped students regulate their emotions and take a break when class is too overwhelming. It is the most popular part of the room, and at student-led conferences everyone wanted to show their parents how much they love the space. They have a cozy area that they use to take a break and regulate. The resources are used daily by all of the students whether it is the blankets to help them warm up or the seats to feel regulated. \r\nMy class was so excited to see the new materials! They were so curious to learn about what we got and how they would be able to use it.
