The classroom essentials you provided made such a meaningful difference for my students. Those resources helped us build strong routines, stay organized, and create a classroom where students felt comfortable and ready to learn each day. The whiteboards became a favorite tool for hands-on lessons, the easel helped anchor our discussions and small group work, and even simple items like tissues showed students that their needs and comfort truly mattered.\r\n\r\nAs I move on to a new school, I want you to know that your impact continues. Each day, my first graders come into the classroom and pick their flexible seating option for the day. We are going on 3-4 weeks now of FIRST GRADERS picking their own seat every single day with no issue. This is amazing to me and it truly shows what giving autonomy to students does. It has made my students more responsible, problem solvers, and they now have the ability to think about what kind of seat will best support their learning. Each of my students have their own favorite seats and our only rules are you don't sit in a seat if it doesn't work for you and you make sure other friends get an opportunity with a seat by not sitting in the same space two days in a row. \r\n\r\nEach day, when the seating was first arriving my students would wait patiently to see if anything was delivered that day. When our security person brought up a package my students would SCREAM with excitement and honestly so would I. It was such a joy to watch them be so excited about the classroom and our new additions. Since getting the seating, I have students who barely did their work before getting entire packets and writing done in their flexible seating option. Students are more focused, eager to learn, and seem so much more at home and comfortable in my classroom. Families and caregivers have expressed their gratitude as well saying that their students are so excited for these additions and that giving their student options makes them happy. \r\n\r\nI cannot wait for you to see the picture of students learning in their new spaces. And again, I am so so grateful for you and what you made possible in my classroom. My whole school wants to adopt the flexible seating model now!","fullyFundedDate":1735657790604,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-comfort-the-power-of-flexible/9019582/","projectTitle":"Classroom Comfort-The Power of Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lally","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9883290_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735346913763","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9883290"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_132102","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":401,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":74.3,"schoolId":132102,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Worcester Cultural Academy - Grades 1-5 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Worcester Cultural Academy - Grades 1-5","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/massachusetts-department-of-education/worcester-cultural-academy/132102"}
