These supplies have already become an essential part of our daily routine—students use them during writing workshop, math problem-solving, reading notes, and partner projects. One of my favorite moments happened during our first writing lesson after distributing the cases: students excitedly organized their pencils, highlighters, and erasers, and several proudly held up their brand-new materials and said, \"I finally have everything I need!\" The sense of independence and readiness these kits provide has truly changed the energy in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first opened their pencil cases, the room filled with cheers and huge smiles. Many students carefully explored each item, laying the supplies out on their desks like treasures before putting them back in just the right place. For some, this was the first time they'd had a complete set of their own school tools, and they treated them with so much pride and responsibility. The excitement carried into our lessons—students were more focused, more organized, and clearly motivated to use their new materials.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include beginning our nonfiction writing unit, where students will use their supplies daily to annotate texts, draft paragraphs, and revise their work. We are also launching math journals, and the pencils, sharpeners, and dry-erase tools you helped fund will support students through multi-step problem solving and small-group work. Your generosity has given my students not just supplies, but confidence, ownership, and a renewed sense of enthusiasm for learning. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755403062781,"projectUrl":"project/fourth-grade-essentials-packed-prepped/9534782/","projectTitle":"Fourth Grade Essentials: Packed, Prepped, and Ready!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ligon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9725022_orig.jpg?crop=1290,1290,x0,y692&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754335408944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9725022"},{"teacherId":9725022,"projectId":9534727,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my fourth graders now have the organizational tools they need to be successful, confident learners. The binders and notebooks have quickly become an essential part of our daily routine. We use them for reading responses, math notes, writing drafts, and tracking progress toward academic goals. One of my favorite moments happened during our first organizational lesson: students were labeling tabs, decorating covers, and proudly showing off their neatly arranged binders. Several students who often struggle to keep materials together kept saying, \"I finally feel organized!\" The relief and excitement on their faces was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, the classroom buzzed with energy. Students eagerly unpacked each binder and notebook, comparing colors, finding their names on their materials, and immediately asking what we would use everything for. For many of them, having brand-new materials of their own was a big deal—something that made them feel prepared, valued, and ready to learn. The sense of ownership these supplies created has already improved our transitions, our focus, and the pride students take in their work.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve using the binders for our long-term writing portfolio and our upcoming research project, where students will gather notes, draft paragraphs, and track sources. The notebooks will also support our daily math warm-ups and reading reflections as we move into more complex units. Thanks to you, my students are better equipped not just with materials, but with the confidence and structure they need to grow. Your generosity has made a meaningful, lasting difference in our classroom, and we are incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1754762278466,"projectUrl":"project/organized-inspired-setting-up-4th-gra/9534727/","projectTitle":"Organized & Inspired: Setting Up 4th Grade Writers for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ligon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9725022_orig.jpg?crop=1290,1290,x0,y692&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754335408944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9725022"},{"teacherId":3521654,"projectId":8813013,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for your support of our musicians! Their faces lit up the first week the rug was out! They were impressed with the vibrancy of the colors and immediately wanted to 'play' the 4 piano sets along the border. Now we can quickly find our place as we march to the steady beat on entry to and exiting from the room, have assigned spots for quick instrument assignments and game places.\r\n\r\nWe are learning notation symbols as we build our music literacy using the rug to identify the staff, treble clef and notes, rests and symbols that we use. This will be invaluable in January when we begin our recorder units in grades 3, 4, and 5. The conversations have already started because of the rug!\r\n\r\nAs they are seeing music notation more and more they are able to recognize these signs as familiar and it is a beautiful built in resource for all.","fullyFundedDate":1729629017828,"projectUrl":"project/gather-round-the-music-rug/8813013/","projectTitle":"Gather 'Round the Music Rug","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pidacks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3521654_orig.png?crop=486,486,x0,y19&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727027023230","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-pidacks"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61669","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":631,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.8,"schoolId":61669,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Charles J Jaworek Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Charles J Jaworek Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/marlborough-public-school-district/charles-j-jaworek-elementary-school/61669"}
