The items purchased have been a success. As you can see in the pictures, the small table is the perfect size for little learners to collaborate and do hands on activities. Shown is our sound tree that used to be on the floor. At the time, our sound tree was proudly displayed on the table and was a major attraction. The children enjoyed going there and matching the pictures on the ornaments to the matching holiday light letter. Other activities are done there daily as well. From writing to coloring or playing a game like Candyland- the children are making good use of that table.\r\nThe pocket chart and letters have also been very useful. I can now have multiple hands on pocket chart games going at one time and the children enjoy it. Just being the one chosen to roll over the pocket chart is exciting. I find the children more engaged and enjoying all the games I have.\r\nThe letters and big picture cards have been very useful in creating games for the children to practice matching, saying their sounds or identifying letters. \r\n\r\nI want you to know that all these items have been of great use this school year and I know I will continue to use it all for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1762267678443,"projectUrl":"project/pocket-chart-play-and-learn-center/9468563/","projectTitle":"Pocket Chart Play and Learn Center","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ortiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5957388_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538861919584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/samie-ortiz"},{"teacherId":5957388,"projectId":9388752,"letterContent":"Our table has arrived and has been in use from the moment it was built. \r\n\r\nThe day it arrived I set it up before they got to school. When they arrived, they were so curious. I immediately told them all the ways they could use it and as soon as it was center time, a few kids asked to play memory at the table. \r\nSince then students consistently ask to go and work there. Everything from games, to reading or writing is happening at this table thanks to your generous donations.\r\n\r\nIt's the perfect size and it really has been a great addition to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1752671676219,"projectUrl":"project/table-or-floor/9388752/","projectTitle":"Table or Floor?","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ortiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5957388_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538861919584","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/samie-ortiz"},{"teacherId":7491258,"projectId":8723049,"letterContent":"Thank you for funding new rugs and science materials for my ESL classroom. As newcomers, visuals and hands on learning is so important!! Teaching life cycles is a state standard and through your funding I was able to provide the students with a hands on real life experience hatching chickens from eggs in an incubator. The project was a huge success! The students are now experts on the life cycle of a chicken, caring for living animals, learning about habitats and rehoming chickens to a farm. The students English language exploded throughout this project! By contributing to my project, you've helped not only me, but also the other SLP and the three OTs I work with. Our students have been so engaged and happy to have new complete items to play with and our sessions have been much more engaging since receiving these items. \r\nEach item has made a huge impact in my ability to work with my students. I use Goodnight Gorilla in every assessment to look at students' ability to retell a story, form a cohesive narrative, answer questions, and look at their perspective taking ability in a way that doesn't feel as rigid as many tests. Don't Break the Ice, Beware of the Bear, and Crocodile Dentist have become my students' three favorite games and we play them in almost every session. The emotion legos, train set, barn, and racetrack puzzle have become quick fixtures in our gross motor room and favorite choices for many of my minimally speaking students to engage, leading to huge gains in their language and communication. \r\nTruly, your contribution of these items has transformed and improved my sessions in a huge way, and I am so thankful for your kindness and support.","fullyFundedDate":1735872533594,"projectUrl":"project/creating-connection-through-communicatio/9024368/","projectTitle":"Creating Connection Through Communication","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9795547"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61633","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":480,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":57,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.8,"schoolId":61633,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Greenhalge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Greenhalge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/lowell-public-schools/greenhalge-elementary-school/61633"}
