Now that the weather is getting warmer, we have been able to spend more time using the materials you generously donated \"in the field.\" We used the turbidity tube and soil probe to help observe soil and water health. We used the tree growth study kit while learning about carbon sequestration as well as how tree growth is affected by changes in weather and other disruptions.\r\n\r\nFinally, since we have completed our AP test, we have been able to include a \"local ecology unit\" where students have been using the field guides to analyze animal tracks and study local predator-prey relationships. This has been a very engaging addition for this part of the year, when we are all thinking about summer. \r\n\r\nI want to thank you again for selecting our classroom. These new materials gave my students more hands-on experiences to help them practice the skills used by field scientists.
