This week, I was able to set up all the materials. The students have been surprised and excited to see the small but meaningful changes these materials bring to our room. They have been using the fidget bands on the seats as a quiet and discreet way to fidget while staying engaged.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest highlights of this project is the comfortable chairs (no surprise)! The students noticed the chairs right away. The lap desks have also been a great help for students to be able to work while using this alternative seating. They are all so excited to use the chairs during groups that I might need to create a rotating schedule for their use. They have been a huge hit!\r\n\r\nThe backpacks are on their way and will be a great help for students in need. I already have one student in mind who I know will be very grateful for this!\r\n\r\nIn November, our group discussions will focus on the science behind, as well as the similarities and differences between being thankful and being grateful. This project is the perfect real-life example to introduce these topics! Without all of your support and kindness, I'm not sure I could have made this happen for my students, and for that, I am truly thankful and grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1760720134586,"projectUrl":"project/chill-corner/9799800/","projectTitle":"Chill Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cluff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10304882"},{"teacherId":4147126,"projectId":8875734,"letterContent":"Donations to our classroom have made an incredible difference in the lives of my students. With the generous support of our community, I have been able to provide resources and opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise.\r\n\r\nThanks to these donations, my students have access to engaging and diverse books that spark their curiosity and foster a love of reading. For many, these books represent the first time they see themselves reflected in literature or explore new worlds beyond their everyday experiences. This exposure not only enhances their literacy skills but also encourages empathy, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.\r\n\r\nBeyond books, donations have allowed us to incorporate hands-on learning materials and technology that make lessons more interactive and meaningful. Whether it is a science kit that brings experiments to life or access to educational software that supports personalized learning, these resources empower students to explore, question, and develop a lifelong love of learning.\r\n\r\nThe impact extends beyond academics. Knowing that others care about their education boosts students' confidence and motivation. When they see that people believe in their potential enough to invest in their learning, it fosters a sense of pride and belonging. This support has transformed our classroom into a place where students feel inspired and valued.\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors. Every contribution, no matter the size, has a lasting effect on my students' education and future. Thank you for helping us create an environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1733267709782,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-our-students-through-literatu/8875734/","projectTitle":"Empowering Our Students Through Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Espinola","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4147126_orig.jpg?crop=828,827,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728845295312","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4147126"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61928","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2314,"numTeachers":182,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":19,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.3,"schoolId":61928,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/greater-lowell-regional-vocational-technical-school-district/greater-lowell-vocational-tech-school/61928"}
