I am grateful for your generous donation to support our classroom project for research books about epidemics and pandemics. The books have been essential resources for the students to explore topics and help them understand public health, science, medicine and challenges faced around the world. \r\n\r\nThe books are both age-appropriate and high-quality, providing students with valuable resources to research various pandemics and epidemics. Last year, when students wrote their research papers, it was challenging due to the lack of age-appropriate resources. However, this year, I've noticed an increase in student interest and engagement as they explore their topics. With access to a wealth of knowledge, they are now able to understand the complex issues that affects our world today.\r\n\r\nHaving lived through the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the students have seen how quickly a health crisis can occur and affect the society they live in and the world. The students faced many challenges that impacted their growth, including school closures, remote learning, increased stress, and limited social interaction with peers. Thanks to these books, students have been able to participate in the research process, developing their ability to think critically about the science behind the pandemic.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your generous donation and ongoing support of education. Students now have valuable resources in their hands to further their research skills and enrich their learning experience. We appreciate your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1717707448376,"projectUrl":"project/6th-graders-exploring-epidemics-and-pand/8350041/","projectTitle":"6th Graders Exploring Epidemics and Pandemics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Guillory","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4023409_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1548462120544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4023409"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62753","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":599,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":9,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":92,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":16.2,"schoolId":62753,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Duxbury Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Duxbury Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/duxbury-public-school-district/duxbury-middle-school/62753"}
