We have been matching our snap letters to letters around our classroom. We are not ready for writing words, yet, but we can name and match all 26 letters in our alphabet. We can also practice the sounds that the letters say!\r\n\r\nWe love to make structures with our pipe pieces. We like to look at our friends through the individual pieces, too. We are learning to build with all of our new table top toys, and we are also learning that we need to clean them up. We do that by taking our structures apart after play. We love taking care of our new materials. We feel proud and excited about our creations. We have had a very cold winter, and these materials have kept us engaged during our indoor recess. We are able to continue to use our bodies in ways that bring us joy! We have stepping stones that help us with balance. We have a balance beam that we love to walk across with our friends. Sometimes we pretend that there is water under us and we need to balance so that the alligators don't bite us!!\r\n\r\nWe love our steps that change colors with the weight of our shoes, and even the heat of our hands! Our balancers are so much fun. Even our teachers can rock back and forth with us. We sometimes put them upside down to make rainbows that we can walk across. When our boxes first arrived the classroom was filled with cheers and excitement. That was just from our teachers! The students have grown from these indoor recess changing materials. We are having fun, using our bodies, and loving being in our classroom.
