I was able to start using a few of them, namely, Change Starts With Us, Harlem Grown, and Plant It, Grow It, Eat It. These books were used to introduce difficult concepts such as recycling, and caring for earth. Together with our instructional resources, the books were used to build background knowledge, teach key vocabulary, and guide students in a rich discussion. Students were also able write about caring for earth.\r\n\r\nWe also appreciate the other items which we have started using in our ELD classroom, such as the dry erase cleaner, paper towels and write and wipe pockets.
