They loved the idea of putting on gloves, which immediately made them feel like \"professional, high-stakes artists.\" The materials instantly signaled that things were about to get messy, hands-on, and exciting.\r\n\r\nWe put both items to use immediately during our recent Gel Plate Monoprinting unit. We lined every single table with the brown kraft paper. Students rolled out vibrant acrylic inks onto gel plates, layered textures using stencils, and pressed paper down to pull prints. One student accidentally knocked over a brayer covered in thick, neon pink ink. Instead of the usual panic about ruining the table, the kraft paper caught it all. The student just laughed, wiped their gloved hands, and kept on printing. By the end of the day, the kraft paper itself was covered in beautiful, accidental abstract patterns from excess ink, which we are saving to use for future collage projects!\r\n\r\nNow that our background prints are dry, we are moving into the next phase of our lesson. Students will use fine-liner pens to draw intricate botanical illustrations over their colorful monoprints. Then they will mount their finished pieces for display in our art gallery. Your generosity has given these students the freedom to experiment without fear of making a mess. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your support in making these creative, messy explorations possible!","fullyFundedDate":1778276811640,"projectUrl":"project/brown-paper-packages-tied-up-with-gl/10259257/","projectTitle":"Brown Paper Packages, Tied Up with... Students were fully immersed in the world of the play, supported by costumes and design elements that helped them embody their characters with confidence. For many of them, this was their first time experiencing what it truly feels like to be part of a fully realized production, and that sense of pride and professionalism was directly made possible by your support.\r\n\r\nBeyond the stage, your contribution helped foster growth that extends far past performance. Students developed stronger collaboration skills, took ownership of their creative work, and gained a deeper understanding of storytelling through design. Costumes and materials became tools for exploration and helped students analyze time periods, character identities, and emotional expression in a tangible way. For some, this experience sparked a new passion for theatre, design, or performance, and for others, it built confidence in stepping outside of their comfort zones.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students were able to see themselves as artists, creators, and storytellers. Their positive reactions showed us how important it is for students to have a calming environment where they feel supported. \r\n\r\nWe would like to thank you once again for these items.
