Not only are the sections of the nonfiction area clearly labeled for students to find what they're looking for, I was able to make some signs in Spanish/English as well to help any students who are more literate in Spanish. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, students have been exposed to more books through the dynamic shelving available using the easel-like book holders. They're able to see the covers and make choices better. Students have also been able to recommend books for other students to choose from by grade-level, which has been a great hit for students when they come into the library. They're always looking at the books recommended by students so they can see if they want to read it too.\r\n\r\nFinally, I was able to do a \"book tasting\" activity, organizing books by genre and different degrees of difficulty for students to \"try out\" and find just right books. I set the library up like a cafe with table clothes, dimmed lighting, cafe music playing, and the tea lights. The students were so excited to come into the library and see the changes. As a result of the activity, they were able to find some more books that they were interested in and wanted to check out. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your donation. It has had an immediate impact on my students being independent at finding books, getting excited about books, and wanting to read more books.","fullyFundedDate":1755954044459,"projectUrl":"project/book-holders-book-tasting-materials/9593931/","projectTitle":"Book Holders & Book Tasting Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. K.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3023209_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516395064420","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3023209"},{"teacherId":5060539,"projectId":9062399,"letterContent":"The entire community at Magnolia Elementary School extends its deepest gratitude for the generous support of the school food pantry. This commitment has provided essential nourishment and has transformed our school community.\r\n\r\nBefore the food pantry was established, some students faced food insecurity, which affected their health, focus in the classroom, and overall well-being. However, thanks to this generosity, a remarkable change has been witnessed. The school food pantry now provides a vital lifeline for many families, ensuring that children have access to nutritious food and reducing hunger-related anxieties. Students who use the pantry show improved attendance, better concentration in class, and greater academic achievement. By alleviating the burden of hunger, the pantry has allowed students to engage more fully in their education and thrive academically.\r\n\r\nBeyond the direct impact on students, the food pantry has fostered a deeper sense of community and support within the school. There has been increased parental engagement and collaboration, as families find resources and support that extend beyond academics. The food pantry is creating a more equitable learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.'\r\n\r\nThe investment in the health and future of the students is deeply appreciated. This support has truly changed lives and strengthened the community.","fullyFundedDate":1746787249487,"projectUrl":"project/its-impossible-to-learn-while-hungry/9062399/","projectTitle":"It's Impossible to Learn While Hungry","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5060539_orig.jpg?crop=1056,1056,x57,y144&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736956332598","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/theycallmemswren"},{"teacherId":9615565,"projectId":8679425,"letterContent":"Thank you !The resources purchased, such as laminators, organizational tools, and classroom supplies, have enhanced my students' learning environment.
