Because of you, our classroom is now a place where students feel supported, focused, and ready to learn—starting with something as simple and powerful as a snack.\r\n\r\nWe use the donated snacks every day to ensure that all students have the nourishment they need to fully participate in class. Whether it's a quick bite before a challenging lesson or a snack during independent work time, these resources have helped students stay engaged, calm, and confident. One moment that truly stood out was during a small-group reading activity—students who often struggle with focus were able to stay on task, contribute thoughtfully, and complete their work with pride.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their reactions said it all. Smiles spread across the room, and several students quietly said \"thank you\" without being prompted. For some, it was a relief to know they wouldn't have to worry about being hungry during the school day. That sense of care and inclusion made an immediate difference in the classroom atmosphere.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we're now able to focus even more deeply on our current lessons. As we continue working on collaborative projects and building academic skills, students are better prepared to participate, problem-solve, and support one another. Your generosity has helped remove a barrier to learning and reminded our students that there are people beyond the classroom who care about their success.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students more than snacks—you've given them comfort, focus, and encouragement. We are truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1763774114765,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-everyone/9917142/","projectTitle":"Snacks for Everyone","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10075042_orig.jpg?crop=2300,2300,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752110149988","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075042"},{"teacherId":10075042,"projectId":9614214,"letterContent":"Thanks to this project, my students now have hands-on access to tools that turn learning into an active, creative experience rather than something that only happens on paper or a screen.\r\n\r\nThe Epson printer has made a huge difference in how students complete and share their work. The printer has also helped me tremendously by having access to print out teaching documents immediately instead of having to wait to use a shared copy machine. \r\nThe LEGO kits are a favorite. Students are using them to build, test, and redesign as they explore engineering, math, and teamwork concepts. The excitement comes from being able to experiment, make mistakes, and try again—something that builds confidence and perseverance.\r\nDiamond Art has also been incredibly engaging. Students love the focus and creativity it encourages, and many find it calming and rewarding to complete a detailed project step by step.\r\nStudents who have especially benefited\r\nSome of our students who struggle with traditional instruction have truly shined with these materials. Hands-on learners and students who need sensory or creative outlets have been more focused, motivated, and willing to participate. The safety glasses and scissors allow students to work independently and safely during projects, helping them feel trusted and capable while learning important real-world skills.\r\nOverall, this project has helped create a classroom where learning is interactive, creative, and accessible to every student. Thank you for giving my students tools that inspire curiosity, confidence, and joy in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763420260189,"projectUrl":"project/all-about-the-a-art-in-steam/9614214/","projectTitle":"All About the A (Art) in Steam!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10075042_orig.jpg?crop=2300,2300,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752110149988","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075042"},{"teacherId":10075042,"projectId":9464612,"letterContent":"Thank you for bringing this project to life. Our high school students are energetic, talented, and involved in a variety of activities inside and outside the classroom. Whether it's during class time, club meetings, or school events, we strive to create a learning environment that is structured, engaging, and compassionate. To support our students more effectively, we are requesting storage racks, supply caddies, a portable speaker, and a durable wagon. These tools will help us stay organized while creating more space for empathy, service, and collaboration.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe storage caddies and wagon will be used to transport supplies for school-wide kindness initiatives, care package deliveries, and community projects, such as making hygiene kits for shelters or distributing books and art kits to younger students. These experiences give students direct insight into the lives of people who may be struggling and help them understand different needs and perspectives.\r\n\r\nStudents will work toward alleviating suffering in others by creating systems that support those around them. With a more organized classroom, students will be responsible for maintaining shared materials used in school. The portable speaker will amplify student voices literally during assemblies, awareness campaigns, or calming mindfulness sessions they lead for their peers. These actions, though simple, are meaningful opportunities for students to bring joy, reduce stress, and create inclusive, uplifting spaces.","fullyFundedDate":1753118852977,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-compassion-connection-and/9455208/","projectTitle":"Rolling Into Compassion, Connection, and Community","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10075042_orig.jpg?crop=2300,2300,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752110149988","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075042"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64992","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":113,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":51,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"6.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":33.3,"schoolId":64992,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Non-Traditional Programs @ Croom Vocational High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Non-Traditional Programs @ Croom Vocational High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/prince-george-s-county-public-schools/croom-high-school/64992"}
