I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for your incredible generosity in funding my Donors Choose project. Your support has made an immeasurable difference in the lives of my students and has truly transformed our Resource room into a place where they feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.\r\n\r\nThe moment I was called to the office to pick up my Donors Choose boxes i was ecstatic! I immediately had a few helpers take boxes into the Resource room and we began unpacking and setting up the space. \r\n\r\nWhen my students were pulled out for their services and walked into the room, their faces lit up with excitement and awe. One student exclaimed, \"This is like a cozy fort where we can learn!\" Another said, \"I love the bean bags! I feel so comfy, I can't wait to read my sight words!\" The calming sensory cushions were immediately put to good use, with one of my students saying while sitting to complete his i-Ready Reading activity, \"I can feel calm now, I don't get as upset.\" These cushions have already made a huge difference, as my students are not as easily frustrated when completing their online interventions.\r\n\r\nThe bright and colorful math and reading posters that now decorate the walls have become a valuable reference for the students. One student pointed to the math chart and said, \"I can always look at this to help me with my math!\" These visual aids have quickly become indispensable tools for reinforcing the concepts we're learning, helping the students feel more confident and independent.\r\n\r\nAnd the LED wall clock, which we all now rely on, has become a helpful tool in keeping students on track throughout the day. One of my students said, \"It's so easy to see the time! Now I know when to get ready for the next thing.\" The clock has helped students manage their time more effectively, making transitions smoother and reducing anxiety.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, these items have not only enhanced our learning environment, but they've also provided a sense of comfort and joy for my students. It's clear that this room has become a place where they feel valued, supported, and excited to be.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, I want to thank you once again. Your support has allowed us to create a space where learning can thrive in a way that is both enriching and calming. Your kindness has had a lasting impact, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1734576895517,"projectUrl":"project/engage-hub-an-interactive-learning-spac/8697135/","projectTitle":"Engage Hub: An Interactive Learning Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kilkelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7935125_orig.jpg?crop=1500,1500,x0,y410&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723707995390","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7935125"},{"teacherId":7392045,"projectId":8732159,"letterContent":"My students and I thank you for your donations. Starting a new job in a new environment can be overwhelming in itself, and on top of that, being at a Title 1 Community School and having no supplies can be daunting. However, Donors Choose came to the rescue! With your help, in no time my students developed a routine of stopping by to let me know how they feel based on the feeling wheel. Younger students love using the breathing ball ...they are absolutely mesmerized by looking at it. I wish you could be here to witness how fulfilling it is to watch students share their feelings and encourage each other. This all happens before our day begins. :) Though out the day many students struggle with self-regulation and are popping into my office or stand in front of my windows to read regulation charts to find copying mechanisms that would work for them. We are most certainly making baby steps in making our school feel calmer and safer! THANK YOU! In small groups we are enjoying the board games while learning social skills and using words to express our feelings.","fullyFundedDate":1726171311172,"projectUrl":"project/learning-social-emotional-intelligence/8695186/","projectTitle":"Learning Social-emotional Intelligence","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Petritz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9701880"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_72219","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":516,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":83,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":51.7,"schoolId":72219,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cora Rice Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cora Rice Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/prince-george-s-county-public-schools/cora-rice-elementary-school/72219"}
