These new resources have made reading more inclusive, interactive, and joyful for everyone.\r\n\r\nWe use the big books daily during our shared reading time. Because the text and pictures are so large and clear, every student can easily see and engage—whether they're sitting close up or using adaptive seating. \r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments came when we read In the Tall, Tall, Tall Grass for the first time. The students were absolutely mesmerized by the big, bright pages. One student who typically hesitates to participate eagerly came up to turn the pages for the class, while others took turns identifying animals and colors using picture cards. Their excitement and sense of pride were unforgettable.\r\n\r\nThese materials have opened up new ways for my students to connect with stories—visually, verbally, and kinesthetically. They're not just listening anymore; they're actively participating.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made it possible for every learner—regardless of ability—to experience the magic of reading together. Thank you for helping make our classroom a place where every student feels seen, included, and celebrated.","fullyFundedDate":1754076028462,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-big-books-for-special-n/9289677/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Big Books for Special Needs Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8933423_orig.jpg?crop=623,623,x0,y101&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674565176239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8933423"},{"teacherId":8933423,"projectId":9260477,"letterContent":"We are using the puzzles as part of our morning work and small group activities. They've been a fantastic tool for building critical thinking skills, teamwork, and fine motor development. Some students work independently to challenge themselves, while others collaborate to complete puzzles together, practicing their communication and problem-solving skills. We also use them as a calming activity to help students transition between subjects.\r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they first saw the puzzles! Their faces lit up with excitement. Many immediately grabbed for the puzzles and eagerly got started on completing the puzzles. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and curiosity.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to integrate the puzzles into themed learning centers. For example, during our unit on animals, we'll use animal-themed puzzles to reinforce vocabulary and categorization skills. We're excited to track their growth not just in academic skills, but in patience, perseverance, and teamwork!","fullyFundedDate":1744923005771,"projectUrl":"project/support-learning-through-fun-puzzles/9260477/","projectTitle":"Support Learning through Fun Puzzles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anne","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8933423_orig.jpg?crop=623,623,x0,y101&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1674565176239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8933423"},{"teacherId":8933423,"projectId":8985034,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation of the hands-on math manipulatives, including play money, clocks, play registers, and large calculators. These resources have been a game-changer in our classroom, providing both practical and engaging ways for students to grasp key mathematical concepts.\r\n When the students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many of them were eager to explore the materials. It was like bringing math to life in a way they could physically engage with. For many of my students, these tools provided a tangible way to understand abstract ideas like currency, time, and arithmetic operations.\r\n Students were able to pretend to run a mock store. Using the play money and registers, they \"purchased\" items in the store and had to calculate their totals, make change, and even keep track of their \"budget.\" This hands-on experience allowed them to practice addition, subtraction, and budgeting skills while also learning real-world applications of math. \r\n Overall, the impact of these resources on our classrooms have been profound. The students are more engaged, and they're not just learning math—they're learning how to apply it in the real world. These manipulatives have created a bridge between abstract concepts and real-life applications, and I know my students will continue to build on these skills as they grow.\r\n Thank you again to the donors who made this possible.
