At the temporary tattoo station, students first learned about traditional tattooing practices from different cultures and the symbolism behind specific designs. They then used the temporary tattoo markers to create their own non-permanent body art inspired by those traditions. One especially powerful moment came when a student carefully explained the meaning behind the design they chose to a friend, connecting it to their family's heritage and personal story.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the station, their reactions were immediate excitement and curiosity. Many were drawn in by the colorful setup and welcoming atmosphere, while others were initially quiet but quickly opened up once they began designing. Several students shared that they appreciated having an activity that felt calming and expressive rather than academic or performance-based. The temporary tattoos gave students a safe way to explore identity, creativity, and culture without pressure—just joy.\r\n\r\nThe next step for students is carrying these conversations back into the classroom. In the days following Multicultural Day, we are reflecting on how cultural traditions communicate values, identity, and history, and students are making connections between visual symbolism and the broader themes we study in social studies and world history. Your support helped turn a single table into a space of belonging, affirmation, and connection—one that many students will remember long after the day ended. Thank you for helping create a moment of joy and representation for our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1766501903330,"projectUrl":"project/a-hands-on-temporary-tattoo-station-for/9924675/","projectTitle":"A Hands-On Temporary Tattoo Station for Multicultural Day","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Winkelman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8399956_orig.jpg?crop=635,635,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1675013577032","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8399956"},{"teacherId":10314254,"projectId":9834215,"letterContent":"When I used these resources to bake for my classes to celebrate birthdays, good attendance, academic milestones, and more, my students' eyes lit up.
