One of the most meaningful changes has been during whole-group instruction: students now use the cushions at the carpet to create a comfortable, organized learning space where they can fully engage in lessons and discussions. During independent and partner work, many students choose the rocking chairs for floor assignments. These seats help them regulate their movement, remain focused, and confidently complete extended tasks. The chair bands have also become an essential tool—students use them every day during the speaking and listening lessons that are central to the CKLA curriculum. With these supports, they're able to stay attentive and participate for longer periods of time.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. They immediately gathered around the boxes, pointing excitedly at the flexible seating items and asking if they could try them out right away. Several students tested the rocking chairs on the spot, and others hurried to find the perfect cushion for their carpet spot. The room filled with curiosity and joy, and the students' eagerness to explore the resources made it clear how meaningful this project would be for them.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current unit, these resources will support the next steps in our classroom projects. Students will be using the flexible seating during CKLA lessons, collaborative discussions, and literacy activities that require sustained attention. The tools you provided make it possible for all students to engage more deeply, work comfortably, and build the focus and confidence needed for academic success. Your generosity is shaping their learning every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1758202744600,"projectUrl":"project/let-them-wiggle-while-they-work/9489537/","projectTitle":"Let Them Wiggle While They Work!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rigby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9888402"},{"teacherId":9888402,"projectId":9490106,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a place where reading is vibrant, inclusive, and accessible to every student. The new books—available in both English and Spanish—have made an incredible difference for our bilingual learners. Having texts in the language they feel most confident in has allowed them to fully engage in lessons, participate in discussions, and build skills without feeling left behind. Many are now using the Spanish editions to support their understanding before transitioning into English texts, and the growth in their confidence is remarkable.\r\n\r\nThese books have helped us introduce essential literacy skills: close reading, identifying themes, analyzing character development, using text evidence, and understanding how authors shape meaning through structure and tone. Students annotate, ask questions, work in small discussion groups, and share insights that come from genuine curiosity—not obligation.\r\n\r\nBecause we now have materials that meet students where they are, everyone can participate equitably in our reading incentives and classroom competitions. Bilingual students who once hesitated to join are now earning points, setting personal goals, and celebrating their progress right alongside their peers. One student who previously avoided reading challenges is now leading her group because she can access the story in Spanish and then confidently contribute in English.\r\n\r\nYour support hasn't just added books to our shelves—it has ensured that every student, regardless of language background, can experience the joy and pride of reading success. I was able to use the money to purchase google slides for EVERY lesson in our Math curriculum! Rather than spending time making these slides, my team and I have been able to spend our time diving deeper into these lessons to focus on specific ways to help our students better understand the content. The purchased slides help the students and I keep the lessons moving along in a fluid way and keep them engaged. Having the students see the questions, problems, visuals, and more on the board helps them stay focused and keep up with the pace of our lesson.\r\nSome students who have been particularly positively impacted are our students who are visual learners. Rather than only using their listening skills to follow along, they are able to visually follow along with the slides. The slides have been so engaging for the students and their learning! Using headphones has really helped the students in my classes. Our school has many students who speak Spanish as their first language. There are math videos available in English and Spanish for students who can do the math but need language support to help their understanding. Being able to watch a video in Spanish means that students have been able to keep up with the content while they work to learn English. The headphones make it possible for my students to watch supplemental math videos to support their student learning. Some students like to wear the headphones to tune out noise even when they are not on the computer.\r\n The privacy folders have also been valuable in helping the students to focus. They reduce distractions from other students who are watching videos, who might be working independently nearby or to me as a teacher leading small groups. We use the privacy foIders for testing too. The headphones and privacy folders provide students with the best learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1746825033306,"projectUrl":"project/hocus-pocus-we-need-focus/9315046/","projectTitle":"Hocus Pocus, We Need Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ciavarella","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9028343"},{"teacherId":9888402,"projectId":9261197,"letterContent":"The snacks, games and treasure box items you provided have added so much energy, motivation, and joy to our classroom! One standout moment was during state testing week we used the Welch's fruit snacks as a boost before testing, and I truly believe it made a difference. The students were focused, energized, and performed exceptionally well. It became a little ritual they looked forward to each day, and it set a positive tone for some very big moments.\r\n\r\nOutside of testing, we've used the UNO cards and Mancala sets during brain breaks and reward time. These games have not only helped students relax and recharge, but also encouraged cooperation, communication, and strategic thinking in a fun, low-pressure way.\r\nTheir eyes lit up the moment they saw the variety of snacks and games. There were excited whispers, huge smiles, and lots of \"Thank you!\" shouts. Students were extremely excited to earn rewards each day and made an additional effort to get caught being a leader. Many students couldn't believe these treats were for them they felt seen, supported, and celebrated. The snacks added a sense of fun and care to our classroom that they truly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1746785241750,"projectUrl":"project/a-celebration-of-growth-achievement-an/9261197/","projectTitle":"A Celebration of Growth, Achievement, and Outstanding Character","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rigby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9888402"},{"teacherId":9888402,"projectId":9206139,"letterContent":"The new books, fidget bands, and bean bags have completely transformed our classroom environment! One memorable moment came during independent reading time. With their new book choices in hand, students were able to spread out in our reading corner, settle into the bean bags, and truly enjoy reading in a calm, comfortable space. The fidget bands have also helped many of my students stay focused during lessons especially those who need a bit of movement to stay engaged.\r\n The reaction was pure joy! They were immediately drawn to the bean bags, trying them out and exclaiming how \"cozy\" they were. When I brought out the books, students couldn't wait to dig in many asked, \"Can we start reading now?\" The fidget bands were a hit too, especially for students who usually struggle to sit still. Their excitement turned into immediate engagement, and it was heartwarming to see. Students have been reading more than ever just so they have an opportunity to sit in the bean bag. \r\n Right now, we're building a classroom reading challenge to encourage more independent reading. With the new books and cozy spaces, students are setting personal reading goals and tracking their progress. They'll soon be creating book reviews and sharing recommendations with their classmates. The calm and focused environment made possible by the new materials is helping them feel more confident and motivated every day.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generous support, our classroom feels more welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring and that's making all the difference.","fullyFundedDate":1744926907766,"projectUrl":"project/make-learning-fun-help-increase-student/9206139/","projectTitle":"Make Learning Fun, Help Increase Students Love for Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rigby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9888402"},{"teacherId":9119577,"projectId":8853922,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations!
