Students so enjoyed hearing stories about and families that looked like them. Students enjoyed the books so much that I put them out as a reading center so they could read them as much as they wanted to. I even had parents come in and read some to the class and many parents asked for the list of books to purchase for home. These books sparked so many great discussions and motivated one particular student to push through and know she could do hard things.
