Having a whiteboard to project to has made such a difference. Before I had to pull down a screen that often had issues staying down. I could not interact with the image. Now students are able to draw directly on slides I am projecting. I can pause videos and add my own illustrations and work up front for the class to see. Students can go up and show their thinking using images that are already there. Additionally it gives another surface for the students to use during collaborative tasks. I have been able to permanently affix more surfaces for the class to use which allows smaller groups and more engagement. I have seen an increase in participation as the students want to be able to go write on the board and show off their math thinking. As simple as it seems, it really has been a game changer. I am able to move from my document camera and get in front of the class once again to demonstrate strategies or engage with the material before their eyes. We are so grateful for these materials and the additional dry erase markers. We use these items daily.","fullyFundedDate":1731538300209,"projectUrl":"project/hello-white-boards-goodbye-blackboards/8817816/","projectTitle":"Hello, White Boards- Goodbye Blackboards!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. W.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp828001_orig.jpg?crop=399,399,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716569057974","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rachael-wood"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67343","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":750,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":20,"percentAsian":25,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.3,"schoolId":67343,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gorman Crossing Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gorman Crossing Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/howard-county-public-school-system/gorman-crossing-elementary-school/67343"}
