The dollhouses, LEGO sets, dinosaurs, baby dolls, chalk, and other recess toys have given them so many new ways to play, create, and interact with one another. One of my favorite things to see is students building together with the LEGOs, creating imaginative worlds with the dinosaurs and dollhouses, and using the chalk outside to draw pictures and games.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were beyond excited. They could not wait to start playing with everything! It was so much fun watching them explore the new toys and choose what they wanted to play with first. The excitement on their faces made it very clear just how special these materials were to them.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources during recess, indoor recess, and other appropriate times throughout the school day. In addition to being fun, these materials give my students opportunities to practice sharing, turn-taking, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and positive peer interactions. These are such important skills for my students, and they are getting to practice them in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping make our recess and playtime more engaging and meaningful. For example, when we learned about transportation I was able to purchase an item with multiple center activities already done; all I had to do was print, laminate and cut. \r\nAll the students have been very engaged and excited each week something new is pulled out for centers.
