Because of you, my students now have engaging, play-based materials like spinners, interactive games, and activities that make learning both meaningful and fun. One of our favorite new activities has been the Monkeying Around game. We've been using it to target core words for requesting by color (e.g., \"I want red,\" \"blue please\") and to practice spatial concepts such as \"put on.\" Watching students independently request a specific color monkey and then follow through with \"put on\" has been such a rewarding moment. These may seem like small steps, but they are powerful building blocks for functional communication.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They absolutely love the play-based format! The spinners, toys and hands-on games instantly increased engagement and participation. Students who are often hesitant to participate were eager to take turns, make requests, and interact with their peers. The playful structure lowers anxiety and creates natural opportunities for communication, which is especially important in speech therapy. Instead of practicing isolated skills, they are learning through joyful, meaningful interaction.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are able to continue building their functional communication skills in authentic ways. Our next steps are to expand their use of core words beyond the game setting—encouraging them to generalize requesting, and commenting during classroom routines and peer play. These materials will continue to support growth in expressive language, social interaction, and confidence. Thank you for giving my students tools that make learning exciting and communication empowering. Your support truly makes a difference in their daily lives.","fullyFundedDate":1763755143447,"projectUrl":"project/play-with-a-purpose-helping-kids-find-t/9502547/","projectTitle":"Play With a Purpose: Helping Kids Find Their Voice","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McDonald","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10094792_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753547560454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10094792"},{"teacherId":1463453,"projectId":3221671,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support and generosity.
