What may seem like small, everyday necessities have become powerful tools for restoring confidence and dignity. Students now have access to what they need to feel clean, prepared, and focused on learning.\r\nWhen I first introduced the project, the response from students was immediate and heartfelt. Many expressed gratitude, some quietly, some with visible relief. One student shared that knowing these items are available \"takes away one more thing to worry about.\" The simple reassurance that support exists, without questions or judgment—has meant more than we anticipated.\r\nThe next steps for our project include:\r\nExpanding inventory to ensure consistent availability of high-demand items\r\nCreating discreet access systems to protect student privacy\r\nPartnering with additional community organizations for sustained support\r\nIncorporating wellness education to further empower students in self-care\r\nThis hygiene closet is more than a resource, it is a statement. It tells our students that they are seen, valued, and worthy of care every single day.\r\nThank you for helping us build a space where dignity is protected and students can walk into the classroom confident and ready to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1761155168558,"projectUrl":"project/hygiene-closet-take-what-you-need/9580276/","projectTitle":"Hygiene Closet: Take What You Need","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7741341_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689963249986","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7741341"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64387","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":317,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":85,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.5,"schoolId":64387,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Garrett Heights Elementary School 212 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Garrett Heights Elementary School 212","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/baltimore-city-public-school-district/garrett-heights-elementary-school-212/64387"}
