The phonics manipulatives and whiteboards have also been a big hit—students love the hands-on practice, and even those who are usually hesitant to participate are more eager to engage. One of our students met his counting goal with flying colors, thanks to our alien manipulatives, while another was able to describe how trying new things is hard and important with Elmo and his friends, all thanks to your support.\r\n\r\nWe have arrived in our beautiful, new building with our supplies in tow. I know our students benefit from having consistent support that meets them where they are. Thank you for helping me create a mobile, sensory-friendly speech therapy space that fosters connection, confidence, and success for every student.","fullyFundedDate":1746288651090,"projectUrl":"project/mobile-speech-unit-with-sensory-support/9189934/","projectTitle":"Mobile Speech Unit with Sensory Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hannah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9972242_orig.jpg?crop=2288,2288,x58,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744755900001","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9972242"},{"teacherId":8675385,"projectId":8390454,"letterContent":"I am thrilled to share how your generosity has significantly impacted my students and me in enhancing our wellness initiatives at Johnson Elementary. Thanks to your support, we created a dynamic, engaging environment prioritizing student wellness and social-emotional learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the standout projects we facilitated with these resources was a 6-week Lunch Bunch Wellness Group. This group brought together a diverse mix of students for meaningful discussions and activities centered on crucial wellness topics, including:\r\n\r\nSocial Media Safety: Exploring how to navigate the digital world responsibly and healthy\r\n\r\nHealth and Wellness: Encouraging students to adopt habits that promote physical and mental health.\r\n\r\nSchool Survival and Success: Sharing strategies for managing stress, staying organized, and excelling academically.\r\n\r\n\r\nEach week, we incorporated hands-on activities to make learning fun and memorable. Students played wellness-themed games, expressed their creativity through coloring and drawing, and enjoyed using fidget tools that helped enhance focus and reduce stress. We celebrated their participation with small prizes to keep the momentum going, which they eagerly worked toward earning.\r\n\r\nThe resources funded by this project made all the difference. From the colorful art supplies to the engaging wellness tools, everything helped create an inviting and inclusive atmosphere where students felt safe to share, learn, and grow. It was incredible to witness shy students open up about their challenges and see the camaraderie develop as they supported one another.\r\n\r\nOne student remarked, \"I feel more confident knowing I have tools to help me at school and home. I also love how we can talk about things that matter to us!\" Hearing this reinforces the importance of this work and the impact it has on our students' lives.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has empowered us to provide resources and experiences that will leave a lasting impression on our students.
