The students are excited, and I find it really hard to say no since most of them are strategy games. While I wasn't expecting them to come before the end of the year, it was a bonus my classes needed. \r\n\r\nNext year, I hope to better implement the games into my curriculum. When the students are done learning about banking and paying for college in Personal Finance, I am going to assign them to play the game of Life. Having another way to apply the material is super beneficial, and it is fun. Also, in Personal Finance, using the game Catan to apply the concept of trade will be awesome! I just need to learn how to play it first! Finally, students are now able to teach me how to play a game, it has been super fun and a change of pace we needed! Thank you so much!!","fullyFundedDate":1778021688443,"projectUrl":"project/fun-in-personal-finance-and-civics/10235236/","projectTitle":"Fun in Personal Finance and Civics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lanoie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7549097"},{"teacherId":7549097,"projectId":9764531,"letterContent":"Since the implementation of this book, students have gained a better understanding of personal finance and how it will impact their lives. Every student in my personal finance classes was able to get a book that also saved time I would have spent copying the material. That allows me more time for planning.\r\n\r\nStudents have mentioned that this book makes what they are learning in class more meaningful. I have had students say that this book makes sense for them when it comes to complicated material. It has been extremely helpful with teaching. \r\n\r\nI could not have afforded this book for all of my students with my teacher budget. I am extremely grateful to everyone who donated and helped my students. This book will be relevant and helpful in teaching. The students are so happy to finally have their own set of sports balls to play with outside and everything you donated. Because of your donation, students do not have to go to the library to get chargers which gives them more time in the classroom to get work done. Students also really enjoy having the snacks available for when they are hungry. It is super helpful to be able to give students that little boost of energy mid-day or at the end of the day. \r\n\r\nThe students have also enjoyed having supplies right in the classroom. Many times students have had to go to another classroom to get coloring materials which takes time away from their classroom time. It is super helpful to allow students to take a pencil box full of markers and colored pencils. Finally, having the notebooks for Current Events allows students to keep all of their writing in one place and not lose it in their bags. \r\n\r\nI appreciate everything that you all donated, my students really enjoy the balls most of all and use them often. It is great to give my students the ability to get some energy out and play.
