When each student has their own book in their hands to read and access during comprehension lessons, language lessons and vocabulary development it makes the whole process seem real and important to the students. We read the book Who Cloned the President by Ron Roy and the students didn't want to stop when each chapter ended. They made predications and vocabulary connections.\r\n When I use individual books instead of our reading books to teach reading lessons, the students are much more engaged because of the real books. It empowers them and they feel like real readers.
