This has been a wonderful experience both for myself and the students. Our engagement with our Literacy learning has increased. Students transition quickly to the carpet for Literacy Circle. They are using the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) boards during the reading to find the characters of the story, the setting, or other story actions. They are using the AAC boards to help them respond to comprehension questions. Our overall story comprehension has increased significantly since we started this routine.\r\n\r\nWe have been able to incorporate writing and art projects into our weekly routine around the story of the week. Thank you so much for your donation to my project!!\r\n They had so much fun with the Mr. Potato Head pieces when they used their playdough. They played with the pieces for weeks and wanted to share all of their creative creations! They are looking forward to when I reopen that center! They will enjoy them all year long as they develop great fine motor skills.\r\n They love going to our Drawing/Writing center using the scented markers. It is one of the favorite centers in our class and it helps develop their drawing and writing skills which is so important in kindergarten!\r\n They used our new Etch A Sketch boards daily as we learned how to write each letter. They had so much fun they didn't realize they were practicing penmanship and letter knowledge. They love whenever I pull them out and they can draw letters on them for long periods of time. It is a highlight of learning letters and how to print them!!\r\n The marble run will soon be their favorite center. We are currently working on using magnets to make big creations.
