Instead of starting the day hungry, worried, or embarrassed to ask for help, they now know there is a safe, discreet place where they can grab a snack, hygiene item, or quick reset. I've watched students who usually struggle to focus calm down after a granola bar or a few minutes with a fidget tool from our calming basket. One student quietly said, \"Now I don't have to pretend I'm okay,\" and that moment reminded me exactly why this project matters. Your generosity is meeting real needs while protecting their dignity and letting them just be kids.\r\nWe are also using these resources to build better behavior and emotional skills. When students feel overwhelmed, they can use reflection sheets, calming tools, and our \"Take a Break\" space instead of acting out. I've already seen fewer outbursts and more students using their words to ask for help or explain how they feel. The pantry is now part of our goal-setting work too, students are learning that when they care for their bodies and emotions, it's easier to focus and participate. Next, my students will keep working toward their behavior and academic goals, and they'll be writing thank-you letters to you. Your support didn't just stock shelves; it created safety, stability, and hope in our classroom. Thank you for believing in our cubs.","fullyFundedDate":1762790044030,"projectUrl":"project/cub-cares-pantry-and-behavioral-initiati/9481269/","projectTitle":"Cub Cares Pantry and Behavioral Initiative","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shoulders","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10085451_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754183757117","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10085451"},{"teacherId":9849371,"projectId":8973195,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom feels safer, cleaner, and more cared for—something that means more now than ever. Right before spring break, several students and teachers at our school tested positive for COVID. It was a tough reminder that health and safety are still very real concerns in our classrooms. Having disinfectant wipes and cleaning supplies already in place made all the difference. We didn't have to scramble—we were prepared.\r\n\r\nEvery day, my students help wipe down their desks, learning tools, and shared spaces. It's become part of our routine, and they've taken so much pride in helping keep our classroom clean. One student said, \"It feels good knowing we're helping each other stay well.\" That one sentence showed me just how powerful your support really is.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, we were able to focus on learning instead of worrying. Now, we're diving into hands-on science projects with confidence, knowing we've created a safe and healthy environment to explore and grow.
