These materials include adapted texts, visual supports hands- on manipulatives, and structured, sensory friendly activities designed to meet the diverse needs of students with severe cognitive disabilities. The goal of introducing these resources is to increase access to content, promote engagement, and provide multiple ways for students to interact with and understand key concepts.\r\n\r\n When the students were first introduced to the new materials, many of them showed minimal or no observable emotional response. This is consistent with their individual learning profiles, as some students require extended time and repeated exposure before demonstrating engagement or preference. While there was no immediate visible excitement or reaction, students tolerated the materials and allowed for guided interaction, which is an important foundational step in building familiarity and comfort. \r\n Moving forward, the next step in our social studies and science lessons is to continue pairing these new resources with consistent routines, explicit modeling, and repeated practice m. We will focus on increasing student interaction through prompting, choice-making opportunities, and hands on exploration. They use them daily with our computers and complete student assignments, research, and listen to videos. The students are most excited for an upcoming silent disco that we are planning to have after testing. \r\n The best part about this new technology is that more students will be able to use it for school research, relaxing during lunch time, and listening to books in the library. I am so excited to provide this new technology to our students.
