We are using the new gardening resources to plan, plant, and care for our garden while connecting lessons to science, math, and responsibility. One special moment was when students planted seeds for the first time—carefully measuring soil, labeling rows, and discussing what plants need to grow. Students eagerly checked the garden each day, recording changes in plant height and leaf growth, and making predictions about what would happen next. Learning became hands-on, meaningful, and exciting.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were thrilled. They couldn't wait to unpack everything and immediately began asking questions about what we would plant and how long it would take to see results. Many students shared personal stories about gardening with family members, while others experienced gardening for the very first time. Seeing their pride as they held tools and planted seeds was unforgettable. They quickly took ownership of the space, reminding one another to water carefully and treat the plants with care.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using the garden as a living classroom. They will observe plant life cycles, collect data, and reflect on how their care impacts growth. We also plan to incorporate writing, art, and nutrition lessons connected to the garden. This project has helped students build patience, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for nature. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in such a hands-on and inspiring way—your support has planted seeds that will grow far beyond our garden. 🌱","fullyFundedDate":1764783832300,"projectUrl":"project/growing-futures-a-student-gardening-pro/9896325/","projectTitle":"Growing Futures: A Student Gardening Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Anderson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10350863"},{"teacherId":8672542,"projectId":9459662,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support and for the wonderful items you donated to our classroom. We are truly grateful, and I am excited to share the incredible impact your gifts have had on our students.\r\n\r\nThe wooden Christmas cookie set quickly became a classroom favorite. Students were drawn to it immediately and spent hours engaging in imaginative play, practicing fine motor skills, and enjoying hands-on learning together. It brought so much joy and excitement to our room.\r\n\r\nThe sandwich maker has been an excellent instructional tool. The visual components helped students practice sequencing and putting items in order, allowing them to better understand routines and steps in a meaningful, concrete way.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles have been especially beneficial for our students with Autism. They provided opportunities to practice ordering, building, and creating while naturally integrating STEM concepts into our daily instruction. Students were engaged, focused, and proud of what they built.\r\n\r\nThe food group play set played an important role in guiding instruction around health and wellness. It allowed us to teach nutrition concepts in a way that was interactive, accessible, and fun for all learners.\r\n\r\nThe doctor set was also a huge hit. Students eagerly used their imagination during pretend play, developing social skills, communication, and creative thinking as they took on the role of caring for others.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has enriched our classroom environment and provided meaningful learning experiences that support both academic growth and social development. They had been asking for weeks when we would finally get the equipment, so when they saw the boxes being rolled into the gym, their faces lit up with pure joy. As we unpacked everything, they eagerly helped set up the nets and couldn't wait to grab a paddle or racket. The first day we played was full of laughter, encouragement, and friendly competition. Students who are sometimes hesitant to participate in physical activities were suddenly stepping forward, eager to serve and rally with their classmates. It was a beautiful reminder that the right resources can spark motivation and confidence in every student.\r\n\r\nThese new materials have transformed our PE lessons by adding variety, excitement, and new learning opportunities. We've been using the pickleball and badminton equipment to teach hand-eye coordination, teamwork, communication, and lifelong fitness skills. Students are learning to strategize, problem-solve, and support one another—skills that extend far beyond the gym. I've seen incredible growth in their sportsmanship and collaboration; they cheer for one another, celebrate improvements, and handle challenges with positivity. Several students have even told me they've asked their families to look for pickleball courts nearby because they want to keep playing outside of school. That kind of enthusiasm and carryover into their personal lives shows just how meaningful this project has been.\r\n\r\nThis project has done more than bring new games to our gym—it's created an environment where students feel capable, included, and proud of what they can achieve. Thank you for believing in my students and helping me give them the opportunity to experience the joy of learning and moving together.","fullyFundedDate":1757768449317,"projectUrl":"project/rally-together-bringing-pickleball-and/9663289/","projectTitle":"Rally Together: Bringing Pickleball and Badminton to PE","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8632589_orig.jpg?crop=1131,1131,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1660918844868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8632589"},{"teacherId":9870036,"projectId":8999297,"letterContent":"I know this response may find you after the required date.
