As students interact with one another, they will build confidence in expressing their ideas, taking turns, and resolving conflicts independently. These social interactions are especially important for young learners, as they help lay the foundation for positive relationships and classroom community. \r\n\r\nAcademically, this pretend market supports foundational skills in math, literacy, and critical thinking. Using the cash register, students practice number recognition, counting, addition, and subtraction as they \"purchase\" items and make change.
