The classroom sets of Scythe by Neil Shusterman and Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson have given my students the opportunity to dive into English language standards in texts that are complex and highly engaging. \r\n\r\nBoth of these books, have stories that students are able to get lost in. Students loved tracking evidence and making inferences as they worked to try and solve the mysteries before the main characters. Any time students beg to keep reading is a fabulous day to be their English teacher.","fullyFundedDate":1744247671591,"projectUrl":"project/modern-whole-class-novels/9187864/","projectTitle":"Modern Whole Class Novels","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Whaley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7448669_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1625797520280","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7448669"},{"teacherId":9812066,"projectId":8895788,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generous donation to our music program. The new tuners have been a big hit with students, and they are now a resource that we use each day in the classroom! \r\n\r\nTuning and intonation are something that we talk about every day, and students are very accustomed to having their instrument tuned before we begin rehearsal. When our new tuners arrived, students were excited to tune themselves before rehearsals began, instead of relying on me to tune each student individually. This has led to a new level of independence with students, which helps build musicianship skills inside the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe biggest achievement of this semester was the Distinguished Rating that students achieved at this year's KMEA District 10 Concert Assessment! This was the first time this honor had been earned by our band students in two years, and I am confident the addition of our classroom tuner set helped in this achievement. Having the ability to have a tuner on each student's stand while rehearsing helped build ear training skills led to a phenomenal performance by our students. \r\n\r\nIn closing, thank you again for your generous donation. It has left a lasting impact on our students and those to come!","fullyFundedDate":1739216566330,"projectUrl":"project/fine-tuning-future-musicians-a-tuner-fo/8895788/","projectTitle":"Fine-Tuning Future Musicians: A Tuner for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sparks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9812066_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x0,y746&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729614975542","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9812066"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57891","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":622,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":39.4,"schoolId":57891,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Casey County High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Casey County High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/casey-county-school-district/casey-co-high-school/57891"}
