The students enjoyed learning about the impact their person had on our lives today. After reading the book, they completed a graphic organizer over their life, then wrote a report. After they completed their report, they shared their person with the class. This gave the class the opportunity to learn about 17 significant lives during Black History Month, instead of just only 2-3 we could have covered as a whole class. We have also completed an amazing art project. Empathy is such an important skill and one that is lacking in our communities.
