I love creating excitement and preparing students to continue on their STEM journey in middle school. \r\n\r\nThe 3D Doodler Pens are a great beginning tool before students code and create items on 3D printers. With the pens, they are able to problem solve, use their hands and create items that they can touch, feel and use on various projects. \r\n\r\nThe excitement that each student exhibits when they get to use the doodle pens is the absolute best! They feel like real engineers and designers. They feel they are capable. They feel seen. They feel important.\r\n\r\nAs a STEM teacher, my goal is to prepare kids for the unknown future. These pens help create more excitement and more engaging lessons. A lot of students are intimidated by power tools, and girls especially, think they cannot use them. The Chompsaws are safe power tools that allow all students to see success. Students who are scared and intimidated have been the most excited and become my Chompsaw coaches! They take ownership in knowing they are more than capable of doing amazing things. \r\n\r\nIn our STEM lab, we create and build at least once if not twice a week. Our latest projects include 5th grade students designing and creating prototypes for our new elementary school playground. Students are getting hands on experience with landscape architecture, playground engineering, and budgetary accountability all while making sure the playground is inclusive and accessible for every student who will walk through the school doors. Fourth grade students are becoming structural engineers and creating safe structures for towns that will stand through natural disasters including tornados, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and floods. \r\n\r\nThese projects would not be successful without the Chompsaws to assist in cutting the cardboard and other materials. I do not need to worry about the safety of my students and am able to see student leadership taken to the next level. Your donation has made a world of difference for my students. They see themselves are builders. They see themselves as engineers. They see themselves as capable. Your impact will last a lifetime. My students are better because of your donation and your believing in their abilities.
