The items provided in this project have already been used and loved. One of the first things we used were the lacing cards. Students listened to Gustav Holst's \"Jupiter\" (a favorite of mine) and worked on their finger dexterity as they laced the cards. Let's just say.....we still need some practice :). The goal is that all my 1st graders will be able to tie their shoes or make knots by the end of the year. Building up that dexterity is important, and these lacing cards help so much.\r\n The magnetic board and sorting sticks have come in clutch for a few of my students with special needs. These items help them focus more in music class. I can see growth in one of my students, from being unable to focus to being able to last an entire class. These two items have been awesome to have.\r\n I have also used the rolling dice with my students. My kindergartners love rolling this and helping pick our next actions. This works well with my students who struggle to think of something on the spot and articulate an action. It also helps me come up with actions when my brain is exhausted from teaching.\r\n Thank you again for your support! This project has been a great deal of fun to see being utilized in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1759115495141,"projectUrl":"project/special-items-for-special-students/9763960/","projectTitle":"Special Items for Special Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Purin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2053358_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1557283451917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-purin"},{"teacherId":2053358,"projectId":9287647,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my elementary music program. This recent project, \"Getting Ready for the New School Year!\" helped me prepare for the start of the school year. From colored paper to books, to instruments, and the mosaic poster...everything has already been used within the first three weeks of school.\r\n The mosaic poster is one of my favorite classroom tools. Each class period, different students get to put stickers on the poster. It is a collaborative classroom management system, and the students are already curious about what the image will turn out to be. I keep it a secret from them, and it is always fun to see what guesses they have. Today alone, I heard landscape, pumpkin, and rainbow (shhh...it's a frog!). \r\n The colored paper has been used for 1st and 4th grade music program notes, 3rd grade recorder notes, and 4th and 5th grade choir forms. It has been a busy year so far, but with 450+ students...we have lots of notes going home! \r\n It has been a whirlwind of a year already, and your support has made the transition go well. I appreciate your help.","fullyFundedDate":1746463928071,"projectUrl":"project/getting-ready-for-the-new-school-year/9287647/","projectTitle":"Getting Ready for the New School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Purin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2053358_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1557283451917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-purin"},{"teacherId":10013546,"projectId":9322256,"letterContent":"I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of books. Your gift has had such a meaningful impact on my students, both academically and personally.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, reading can feel like a challenge, and access to engaging, high-quality books makes all the difference. The excitement on their faces when we added your books to our shelves was incredible, they immediately began exploring, sharing, and even recommending books to each other. These books are helping to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster a love for reading that I know will carry far beyond my classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided resources, but also sent a powerful message to my students: that their learning matters, and that there are people who believe in them and want to support their growth. That encouragement is something I see reflected in their eagerness to pick up a new story, their willingness to take risks in their reading, and their growing sense of pride in their accomplishments.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for investing in my students' futures. I've been wanting to do a blacklight routine, and I finally had the materials to do it. It was amazing, and the pictures do not do it justice! \r\n I was able to use the blacklights from my project to create a \"wow worthy\" moment for my students and their families. I also used the cardboard cutter to cut out dozens of boxes that were transformed into props for our music program. With the help of my 5th graders, we were able to create several glow-in-the-dark guitars, the Eiffel Tower, a dodo bird, a brain, and so much more! The batteries have been used for our microphones for the last several programs, and the large velcro is used for some of our instruments! \r\n All of these things added up and made a huge impact on my students this year.
