It was filled so quickly, and the figures have already been used by so many students. As part of my job as a school social worker, I get to work with really amazing students on different social-emotional skills, such as emotion identification, emotion regulation, friendship skills, and social-problem solving. I like to incorporate play as much as possible into my sessions with students - because I believe that is how children learn best. I use these figures when role-playing different scenarios with students, such as getting a friend's attention in a safe way, or how to ask someone to play at recess. The students I work with have also just enjoyed some free play time with them as well - which is just as important!\r\nWhat I love most is that there are figures that my students can identify with. They can find figures that may look like them, like their friends, or like their family, and that is very important to me. The students were so excited when the supplies arrived, they immediately started brainstorming business names and jumped right into planning. They've worked out the delivery logistics and created a system that works. They've even expanded the menu already, adding seasonal favorites like peppermint mochas and chai lattes this month.\r\nThis project is about so much more than making drinks. Students are building real-world skills as they tackle delivery challenges, keep track of inventory, and serve our staff. Both students and teachers look forward to Thursday afternoons now. The coffee cart has created a real sense of community throughout our school. You can see the students' pride in their work and watch their confidence grow with each successful delivery. Looking ahead, students are already brainstorming new menu items for after winter break and figuring out ways to make their delivery routes even smoother. Your support has given these students a chance to learn business skills, work as a team, and experience what it's like to run their own business.
