Share a specific classroom project or moment.\r\nMy students love the resources! They enjoy interacting face to face, and these materials have given them new ways to connect with one another. Now, instead of rushing to the iPads during indoor recess or game time, I see groups of two to four students playing together—thinking critically, solving problems, and making decisions as a team.\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nThey were so excited! The moment they saw the games, they begged to play right away. Their enthusiasm filled the classroom, and it was clear the resources were going to be a big hit.\r\nYour donors got a little peek into your classroom by contributing to your project, and we know that they'd love to learn more. What are the next steps for your students on a current classroom lesson or project?\r\nThe next steps are continuing to build on these opportunities for collaboration. My students are using the games to strengthen their social skills while also practicing problem solving and teamwork. Each time they play, I see more confidence and stronger connections forming among them.","fullyFundedDate":1755711453307,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-x2/9612866/","projectTitle":"Game On x2","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9710383"},{"teacherId":10160158,"projectId":9549338,"letterContent":"When our new sensory tables arrived, the excitement in our classroom was contagious. On the very first day we introduced them, students were eager to explore. We began with a hands-on color recognition activity where the tables were filled with colored rice and magnetic color cards. Students took turns digging for colors, and this simple activity quickly became a favorite since it combined play with meaningful learning. Watching their faces light up when they discovered a card and proudly identified the color showed me just how powerful these new resources are for engaging young learners.\r\n\r\nWe are currently focused on the five senses in our reading curriculum. To support this, I filled the tables with a variety of textured materials—rice, beads, and soft pom-poms—and students explored using their sense of touch. Their laughter, curiosity, and collaboration created a joyful learning environment and helped them connect abstract concepts to real, hands-on experiences.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to use the sensory tables as part of our upcoming pre-writing unit on drawing with shapes. Students will explore different materials in a variety of shapes to create \"people,\" strengthening both creativity and early writing skills. These tables will continue to be a central part of our classroom, supporting not only academic growth but also social-emotional development as students share, take turns, and work together. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom is now filled with new opportunities for hands-on exploration and joyful learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1755016918860,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-learn-through-sensory-play/9549338/","projectTitle":"Help Students Learn Through Sensory Play!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Webster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10160158"},{"teacherId":8823229,"projectId":8857052,"letterContent":"The \"Literacy For All\" Grant has made a huge impact on the students within the speech room, as well as several other classrooms at Millbrooke. They have learned that sunlight and water are the two most important things needed for success of plants. We will be learning about plants until the end of January but will be able to have several salad parties for the remainder of the school year. \r\n\r\nWe have planted seeds and have been watching them grow into small little plants. Many students have realized that although dirt is useful for plants it is not a requirement for them to grow. They have patiently been waiting and watching the tomatoes grow. They have started to bloom and we have 1 tiny tomato. They cannot wait to have their first salad party!\r\n\r\nThank you donors and the Olathe Public Schools Foundation for your donation.
