Because of your generosity, 14 clarinet students have the resources they need this year. With the new mouthpieces I was able to lend out almost all of the school clarinets to students that needed them. Many of the mouthpieces we had were broken, worn down, or missing cork, and a few instruments had no mouthpiece at all. Your contribution turned instruments that were just sitting on the shelf into playable instruments!\r\n\r\nThe cork and pad replacements allowed me to repair several clarinets that were previously unplayable. Now, I also have the materials to fix instruments here at school instead of sending them to a music store, which saves both time and money. The new mouthpiece cushions have been an incredible addition, students can more comfortably use either a school mouthpiece or their own, the cushions help keep their teeth from sliding and promote the correct clarinet embouchure.\r\n\r\nThanks to your help, whether by funding the project or sharing it, many students were able to start 5th grade band with instruments that weren't broken or worn down. Because of your help, more clarinets became available. I was able to distribute instruments to more students who need them, which makes a real difference to students who want to play but cannot afford their own instrument. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing music back into our students' hands.","fullyFundedDate":1756042785803,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-5th-grade-band-play-their-best/9633766/","projectTitle":"Help Our 5th Grade Band Play Their Best!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cummings","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10204076"},{"teacherId":9845768,"projectId":9597209,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your donations to help fund my project and support my classroom. Hundreds of students have been impacted because of you and your generosity! We are finishing up our paddles unit, and students have been loving the opportunity to experience paddle activities. In addition to learning basic paddle skills, we have implemented paddles into other activities as well. For example, paddles were used with the Gaga ball pit, creating a fun, new game. They were also used with Cup Stacking where students stack sets, and then used them as targets. We also used the Jumbo Stacks where students got to build a tower while practicing their paddle passing skills.\r\n\r\nAlong with the paddles, we also added a set of scooters. I now have enough scooters for all students in grades K-2 to have their own scooter during scooter activities, allowing for maximum participation and engagement. Words can't describe the fun students have with the scooters!\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your generosity as I work to build our physical education program at Mahaffie Elementary!","fullyFundedDate":1755708565307,"projectUrl":"project/creating-fun-and-active-participation-fo/9597209/","projectTitle":"Creating Fun and Active Participation for ALL!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Woodard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9845768_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y362&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755548991933","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9845768"},{"teacherId":10172621,"projectId":9582615,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our 5th grade orchestra classroom. Because of your generosity, we were able to add a bass stand and a full set of shoulder rests for our students.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have already had a huge impact. Our bass now has a safe, permanent home, which protects it from damage and makes it so much easier for students to use. Having a classroom set of shoulder rests has been a game-changer—students no longer struggle to hold their instruments uncomfortably. Instead, they can focus on playing with proper posture and producing a beautiful sound. I can see the boost in their confidence every time they pick up their instruments.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students are not only learning notes and rhythms, but also experiencing the joy of playing music in a way that feels natural and successful. These tools will continue to benefit many classes of young musicians for years to come.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting music education and for giving my students the chance to shine.","fullyFundedDate":1755702028098,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-5th-graders-play-their-best/9582615/","projectTitle":"Help Our 5th Graders Play Their Best!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Illidge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10172621_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755037468001","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10172621"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56079","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":430,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.1,"schoolId":56079,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mahaffie Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mahaffie Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/olathe-public-schools-usd-233/mahaffie-elementary-school/56079"}
