Because our school mascot is the Wildcats, students were especially excited about the themed bookmarks and took pride in earning and using them during reading time. The bookmarks helped create enthusiasm around reading and encouraged students to stay engaged during independent reading activities.\r\n\r\nThe Velcro sticks and batteries for the speaking buttons made a significant difference for my lower learners and students who benefit from additional support. The speaking buttons allowed students to independently listen to task cards and directions being read aloud, which increased accessibility and confidence during classroom activities. The Velcro made it easy to organize and switch materials between centers and lessons, helping students participate more independently and successfully.\r\n\r\nThe state assessment prep workbook provided students with valuable practice using assessment-style questions and test-taking strategies. It helped reinforce academic skills, expose students to the format and rigor of the state assessment, and build confidence leading up to testing. I am deeply grateful for your generosity.\r\nIn the past, I have worked a supplemental job in order to fund things to add to \r\nmy students' instruction, but this year, I have spent that time instead in a course \r\nfrom Phillips Learning Center to help dyslexic students. Did you know that is roughly 20% of the population?\r\n\r\nWhen the touch buttons, splitter, and headphones arrived, the children were so thrilled! Of course, first graders want to use them immediately. They love being able to control the touch buttons for extra support with math and even phonics and have found that they, too, can read into the buttons and turn them into the teacher, as opposed to recording with an iPad. \r\n\r\nHaving an option to listen to a read-aloud story with a friend is important to them. \r\nThe splitter allows them the opportunity to break into different centers with a partner. Additionally, these are the nicest headphones I have seen in my career. The children will choose to use them, oftentimes over their own set.
