The board games have already given the students exciting and new things to play during inside recess and extra time. The problem solving skills and new experiences provide the students with game they have never played before. They are using new ideas, new strategies, and learning to get along with other students while playing these new games. \r\n\r\nBoard games provide them with a way to learn something new, practice skills, and have fun during the school day! Many of them immediately rushed to try out the lap desks and couldn't believe they now had the freedom to work in spaces outside of their traditional desks. Our reading corner quickly became a favorite spot again, with the soft bean bag seating creating an inviting place for students to curl up with a book. The book holders and rolling cart brought organization and independence into our classroom library—students are now able to easily find books that interest them and return them to the right place.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already transformed the way my students engage with learning. During independent reading, I've noticed more students choosing to read for longer stretches of time in the refreshed reading area. When working on writing projects, several groups have chosen to gather around with their lap desks in flexible seating spots, showing more collaboration and focus. The rolling cart has become a central hub for supplies, and students take ownership of keeping it neat and organized, which has helped our classroom run more smoothly.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to play a big role in our daily lessons. The flexible seating options give students the freedom to learn in ways that best fit their needs, while the improved organization fosters responsibility and independence. Most importantly, these materials have created a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and excited about learning. None of this would have been possible without your generosity—thank you for helping make our classroom a place where students can truly thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1746785931368,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-organized-and-ready-to-learn/9121072/","projectTitle":"Cozy, Organized, and Ready to Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Williamson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9927285_orig.png?crop=276,276,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739991774792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9927285"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56578","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":223,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":14,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"10.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":58.6,"schoolId":56578,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Central Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Central Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/baxter-springs-unified-school-district-508/central-elementary-school/56578"}
