The materials allowed my students to engage in hands-on, meaningful learning instead of just listening or watching. They were more focused, excited, and confident because they could actually use the tools to practice the skills we were working on. I saw students who normally struggle stay motivated longer, participate more, and take real pride in their work. The learning was deeper and more joyful because of these resources.\r\n \r\nWe've been using the dry erase boards and magnetic dry erase activities every single day in our classroom. One of our favorite moments was during a small-group literacy lesson where students used the magnetic letters to build CVC words on their boards. They were sliding letters around, practicing sounds, and checking each other's work—it turned into a collaborative, hands-on learning moment that kept every child engaged. \r\n\r\nWe also use the boards during math to show quick problem-solving, draw number models, and practice counting strategies. These resources have made our lessons more interactive and have given students a chance to take ownership of their learning.\r\nhey were so excited! As soon as I brought out the dry erase boards and magnetic pieces, students immediately started asking if they could try them. A few even said, \"This is so fun!\" before we had officially started the activity. They loved being able to write, erase, build, and try again without feeling frustrated. The magnetic pieces were a huge hit—they couldn't wait to explore them, and the room was full of smiles and curiosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758202870078,"projectUrl":"project/noise-cancellation/9450903/","projectTitle":"Noise Cancellation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Birch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8474093_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1652740638427","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8474093"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56495","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":687,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":56495,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Atchison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Atchison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/atchison-unified-school-district-409/atchison-elementary-school/56495"}
