The items we received have added many different sensory learning opportunities in out classroom. I have started following a teacher on Social Media out of Ohio and she has some great ideas that I have adopted in my classroom this year and will continue to add more over the next several months. \r\n\r\nWe have created a letter and sensory learning table that incorporates opportunities for children to explore letter and numbers with their senses. We write in shaving cream, draw letters in sand, drive cars around letters, and even trace letters with magnetic circles that are erase with the magnet wand. Our recordable buttons allow students to recall the letter and sound while at centers as well as throughout the classroom and hallway. I have used these buttons to make High Five areas where students can hear and practice letters, shapes, numbers, color, as well as affirmations. They love the buttons and I often catch them pressing them on the way to the bathroom or when they get ready to go outside. \r\nOur Sensory tables has been enhanced with the addition or kinetic sand. We add different elements such as trucks, sea shells, shovels, and other items to create a high interest play area. I am looking to add more items to create different ways to use the kinetic sand. We also have small sensory tubs that we can add sand to for more individualized play. Playdoh has also been a popular center this year through the addition of somer new rollers, scissors, and Playdoh people pieces. My students have enjoyed rolling long snakes and then cutting them up, making people and monsters, as well as just rolling out Playdoh for cut outs. \r\n\r\nLast, but not least, is our Tonie Box. We have had some difficulty with set up but after our tech support and the companies feedback we will finally be able to use this in or listening center. I am very excited to add this and look forward to using the Creative Tonie to record other teacher, parents, and myself reading stories. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for provided a variety of different hands on learning opportunities for our preschool students in Springville Iowa.","fullyFundedDate":1754920695675,"projectUrl":"project/preschool-adding-more-sensory-listenin/9525824/","projectTitle":"Preschool Adding More Sensory, Listening, & Learning Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10107086_orig.jpg?crop=448,448,x0,y481&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754505623661","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10107086"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51688","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":294,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":97,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.8,"schoolId":51688,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Springville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Springville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/iowa/springville-community-school-district/springville-elementary-school/51688"}
