When we first received the bracelets and bracelet charms, students were extremely motivated and excited to earn tickets. It had been fun to watch the student's excitement when they are close to the amount of tickets needed to earn a bracelet or charm. \r\n\r\nWe have bulletin board in our classroom to display the bracelets when they are able to \"purchase\" one. Students then work on earning more tickets to \"purchase\" the charms for their bracelet. The bracelets stay in our classroom until they are full of charms, at which point students may take them home. The class may also choose to wear their bracelet throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThe pencils have been used as a motivator as well. With these books, students are learning to read with expression and identify words, that we are working on in class. Students are able to use the illustrations to help them read the text, in digestible chunks.\r\n\r\nIn the classroom, it is common to see multiple students surrounding a book and reading together. Students are engaged in the text and laughing as they are reading. The joy students have when reading these stories is exciting.\r\n\r\nSomething I did not anticipate happening with the new texts, was for students to begin writing more. Students have been drawing pictures that are similar to that of the graphic novels and writing sentences to match. The students are very excited to sit on them and have a choice in the type of seat they use. \r\n\r\nThe students are able to use the wobble seats during instruction time. The chairs seem to also help students when they need a break or to calm down in the learning environment because they are able to get their wiggles out and refocus on the task at hand.\r\n\r\nThe wobble seats are a favorite seat choice for students.
