The new desks have made a tremendous difference in both comfort and accessibility for my students. Before, many of our desks were unstable, too small, or difficult to maneuver for students with physical or sensory needs. Now, each student has their own sturdy, easy-to-clean workspace that promotes focus and independence.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when the desks arrived—they immediately noticed how much easier it was to spread out their materials, write comfortably, and participate in group activities. For students with sensory or mobility challenges, the smooth surfaces and stable design have reduced distractions and created a more calming learning space.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has directly impacted their ability to learn, collaborate, and feel proud of their classroom. These desks represent more than just furniture—they are a symbol of safety, belonging, and opportunity. Thank you for investing in my students and believing in their potential every day.","fullyFundedDate":1688574558610,"projectUrl":"project/safer-updated-student-desks/7476328/","projectTitle":"Safer, Updated Student Desks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Burns","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7213302_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1648742416310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7213302"},{"teacherId":10005390,"projectId":9279166,"letterContent":"I wish our donors could have been in the classroom to see the students' faces when the new resources arrived. My students were so excited—it was genuinely like Christmas morning in here as we unpacked all the boxes. The energy was just fantastic! We are already planning to use them. My middle school classes, in particular, are thrilled to use the new stand mixers for our big Christmas cookie project. The new equipment is definitely a hit; I've even had several of my high school students walk by, see the mixers, and immediately say how much they wish they had those when they were in this class!\r\n\r\nFor our donors, I want you to know this is just the start. Looking ahead to next semester, these resources will allow my Advanced Nutrition students to tackle more complex international recipes that simply weren't possible for us before. My Culinary Arts students will also get a huge boost. Instead of using store-bought items, we can now make components from scratch—like fresh whipped cream—which is a small change that makes a big difference in adding to their core skill sets. We are so appreciative of this opportunity to grow our program.","fullyFundedDate":1747092385787,"projectUrl":"project/the-missing-ingredient-five-stand-mixer/9279166/","projectTitle":"The Missing Ingredient: Five Stand Mixers for Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Klement","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10005390_orig.jpg?crop=1060,1060,x1110,y770&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745526572002","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10005390"},{"teacherId":9932828,"projectId":9134791,"letterContent":"I am excited to share the tremendous success of our recent Computer Rebuilding Camp, where 16 students participated in a hands-on experience building computers from the ground up. Over the course of the camp, students gained not only technical skills but also confidence, critical thinking experience, and future-forward vision.\r\n\r\nWorking in teams, students successfully built and configured 9 fully operational desktop computers. Each group navigated the entire process—from identifying components and installing hardware to managing BIOS settings and optimizing performance. Every machine was up and running by the end of camp, a testament to the students' focus, collaboration, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nBeyond the hardware, students were challenged to plan their own future builds, applying what they learned to real-world scenarios and budgeting. One particularly inspired student took this a step further—building his own PC at home the weekend after the camp concluded.\r\n\r\nThe camp not only demystified technology but empowered students with skills they will use for years to come—in school, careers, and personal interests. It created an environment where students saw themselves as capable creators and problem-solvers in a digital world.\r\n\r\nThis success would not have been possible without the support of our school community and those who believe in giving students transformative learning opportunities. We are deeply grateful and hopeful that this will be the first of many tech-based initiatives that prepare students for tomorrow.\r\n\r\nSincerely,","fullyFundedDate":1746837469496,"projectUrl":"project/computer-adventure-assembly-camp-year-2/9134791/","projectTitle":"Computer Adventure Assembly Camp Year 2!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burns","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9932828_orig.jpg?crop=260,260,x8,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741275755148","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9932828"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18861","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":469,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":18861,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wabash Middle High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wabash Middle High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/wabash-city-school-district/wabash-high-school/18861"}
