I think sometimes they think that nothing is a big deal but things like the excitement I've seen when I've told both of my blocks about this coming has proven that isn't really the case. We all know it's important to have books that gear towards their interests. Many of these books students specifically asked me for. \r\n\r\nMy students this past year were so excited to get these books.. they couldn't believe how many books there were. They enjoyed reading these the last few weeks of school.. checking them out almost immediately as soon as I put them on my bookshelves. In my classroom, students get atleast 10 min. to read in the morning after we clean up morning STEM bins & wait on announcements. We also do Flashlight Friday for 30min. every Friday. Students get to read books around the room with a flashlight. This encourages them to want to read. It's So much fun!\r\n\r\nMy students and I are so grateful!
