Headphones are a tool we use on and off through every school day. The quality of the headphones you provided are wonderful. They are comfortable on the students ears, they drown out noise, and they have a microphone for the tests where clear understanding of speech is necessary. Many of my students brought headphones from home and they simply broke within a few days. Although my students do well respecting their headphones, it has been great being gifted headphones that are quality and withstand constant use by children. It is also wonderful knowing they all have a reliable pair. Thank you so much for considering our need and graciously donating to provide. I explained about DonorsChoose and how teachers can request things for the classroom through projects. I told the students that friends, family, and special donors contribute funds to help fill these needs. The elves came overnight and laid out all of the surprises for my students, except the big surprise. At the end of the day we are going to celebrate! \r\nIt began, each student picked out their favorite holiday socks and put them on. Now, I must tell you the unexpected part. It was nearing the end of the day, we had all changed into our Christmas socks and we were dancing to the Crazy Santa Dance. We were having a loud time, laughing, and singing with a bit of chaos thrown in. When a friend walked by the classroom and saw the celebration, luckily she knocked and spilled the beans. She said, \"In one minute the fire alarm is going off for a drill!\" All I could think of was, oh boy are we going to be in trouble, no shoes on in school and it is freezing cold outside. I quickly shut the door and in my very serious voice yelled over the noise and music, \"Freeze.\" The kids looked at me and in my most pleading voice I said, \"You must get your shoes on right now, you have 30 seconds to be ready to leave this room and go outside.\" They all scrambled to find their shoes and tied them up quickly. With about 5 seconds to spare the alarm went off. Of course it was cold outside without jackets but all of us had our shoes on! As soon as we were back inside we laughed at our almost getting caught without shoes on and gave high fives for pulling it off together. We made a great memory!","fullyFundedDate":1733285978359,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-toes-something-fun-a-little-somet/8968592/","projectTitle":"Cozy Toes, Something Fun, A Little Something Yum Yum Yum!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C. There were lots of smiles and jockeying to be the first one to sit upon it.\r\nI was so glad it was wrapped up tight, this gave me time to set some expectations for its use and care despite their eagerness.\r\nOur new easel is a dream to have for access by students.
