From the moment these new items were introduced, the children naturally gravitated toward them, and it has been truly beautiful to watch how each tool has supported their regulation, confidence, and engagement throughout the day. The autism chair has quickly become one of the most loved items in our room. Students who previously struggled with sitting for longer periods or who needed a predictable, calming space now choose this chair independently as a way to settle their bodies and feel grounded. It has offered them a sense of security and comfort, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in their ability to stay engaged during group time, transitions, and learning activities. The Zen garden has also been a tremendous source of peace and creativity. Many students use it when they need a quiet moment to themselves, gently moving the sand with their fingers or using the small tools to create patterns. It has helped them slow down, breathe, and regulate in a way that feels safe and soothing. I've watched children who typically feel overwhelmed during busy moments take a minute with the Zen garden and return to play with a calmer, more organized body. The steppingstones have added movement, joy, and confidence to our environment. My students love using them to practice balance, follow sensory paths, or create little obstacle courses with their friends. They are constantly using them to build body awareness and coordination, and the laughter and teamwork they spark have become a highlight of our day. What has amazed me most is how naturally the children have incorporated these tools into their routines. They are choosing them not because they are told to, but because they know these tools help them feel better, think clearer, and engage more successfully with their peers. These items support the heart of what we strive for—helping children recognize what their bodies need and giving them safe, empowering ways to meet those needs. Seeing their excitement and the confidence these tools bring out in them has been such a gift. I truly hope our donors enjoy the pictures we are sharing, because behind every smile and every moment captured is a child who feels seen, supported, and valued.
