My students are already getting daily use of our new pencil sharpeners. Sometimes the little things are actually the big things in my experience. Students smile every morning and afternoon during our sharpening times! This process has gotten much easier and become a speedy process. \r\n\r\nAs for our new microphone system and dividers, all I can say is wow! This will help all of my students be heard and hidden as needed when we do our class plays. I always have several students who have a very soft voice, thus making it so difficult to hear their part in the play. We usually have an audience of at least 50 students at a time watching our class plays. As you can imagine it is not easy for my students to project their voices at that level. Turning my classroom into a stage will be much more effective with the use of these large dividing screens. It is truly a dream come true to have these new, fabulous items! I will be able to use them for many years to come!","fullyFundedDate":1758845181620,"projectUrl":"project/bippity-boppity-boom/9612055/","projectTitle":"Bippity Boppity Boom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bagwell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp237493_orig.png?crop=886,886,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626441792239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-bagwell3"},{"teacherId":237493,"projectId":9191507,"letterContent":"The impact of the these book sets has been immeasurable. My students were overjoyed to read these new, interesting books. It is important for students to read fiction and nonfiction texts. My classroom library was lacking in nonfiction. Thus these books sets were just what we needed! \r\n \r\n I'm using these book sets to teach about text features. Students are learning the importance of using pictures and text features to to draw conclusions. Students are looking at timelines and explicit facts to help them better understand the overall text. \r\n \r\n Students are reading these sets in partners and small groups. Sometimes we also read as a whole group. Students are challenged by the vocabulary in these texts as well as the content. Your contribution has had a profound impact on my classroom and, most importantly, on my students. I'm excited to share with you how your support, combined with my ongoing commitment to understanding the science of reading, is making a real difference in their academic journeys.\r\n\r\nAs you may know, I've been reading and incorporating research-based practices focused on the science of reading into my instruction. These strategies are grounded in how the brain processes reading and are proven to help students become more effective, confident, and engaged readers. The impact has been extraordinary!\r\n\r\nSince implementing these new techniques, I've noticed substantial improvements in my students' reading skills. From better phonemic awareness to stronger fluency and comprehension, students are making more progress than ever before. They're now able to approach reading with more confidence, and it's incredibly rewarding to watch them grow in their love for learning. For example, many students who previously struggled with decoding words are now able to tackle texts independently, which has boosted both their academic performance and their self-esteem.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped provide the resources necessary to make this transformation possible—whether it's the high-quality texts, phonics tools, or learning materials that are aligned with the science of reading. These resources have given me the ability to implement targeted, evidence-based instruction that meets each student where they are. As a result, students who once found reading challenging are now engaging with texts that they can comprehend and enjoy.","fullyFundedDate":1733282831996,"projectUrl":"project/professional-texts/8961534/","projectTitle":"Professional Texts","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hubbard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5360918_orig.jpg?crop=1358,1358,x341,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1706204586872","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5360918"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19618","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":493,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":19618,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Scottsburg Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Scottsburg Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/scott-county-school-district-2/scottsburg-elementary-school/19618"}
