When students first saw the tools, they were surprised that they were allowed to use power tools in class! When I gave the students the demonstration on how to use the tools, many students said, \"Cool!\" or \"Awesome!\" or \"6 7!\"\r\nWhen the students had the tools in their hands and were allowed to use them, they were nervous and excited! They followed my guidelines very carefully because they wanted me to know that they were able to handle them safely and correctly!\r\nThe students are using the Dremel Tools to create CO2 Dragsters. CO2 Dragsters are kind of like pinewood derby, but instead of plodding along slowly, the students' cars travel down the track at speeds exceeding 40 miles per hour! The Dremel Tools help the students shape their vehicles into aerodynamic speed machines! The tools work so well that the students are able to create designs quickly and effectively!\r\nThanks to your donation, these tools will help students gain confidence and learn new skills that will last the rest of their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1756320196728,"projectUrl":"project/dremel-tools-for-co2-dragsters/9630879/","projectTitle":"Dremel Tools for CO2 Dragsters","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Heimann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp742478_orig.jpg?crop=250,250,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747917140108","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-heimann"},{"teacherId":366464,"projectId":9130293,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have the tools they need to bring their ideas to life through coding!\r\n\r\nBefore your support, many students had to share a single device, which slowed their progress and sometimes caused frustration. Now, with access to additional tablets, each student can test, troubleshoot, and refine their code independently. This simple change has transformed our classroom—students are more focused, confident, and excited to dive deeper into their projects without interruption.\r\n\r\nWhat's most inspiring is watching their creativity shine. For example, one of my students who struggles in school was able to design and test his very first game without waiting for a turn. The pride on his face as he shared it with his classmates reminded me of the real impact your gift has made: you've given students ownership over their learning.\r\n\r\nYour support means so much more than just technology. You've provided equity, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for students who are eager to learn but face challenges beyond the classroom. With every line of code they write, they're not just building programs—they're building confidence in themselves and their futures.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my resilient and creative students, thank you for believing in them and helping them discover the magic of technology.","fullyFundedDate":1748963884304,"projectUrl":"project/coding-our-way-through-middle-school/9130293/","projectTitle":"Coding Our Way Through Middle School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jordan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/thomas"},{"teacherId":366464,"projectId":9130428,"letterContent":"My students are absolutely thrilled with our new 3D printer! It's helping them see how coding and design connect to the real world by turning their digital projects into something they can actually hold. Instead of just coding on a screen, they're making things like nametags and keychains so far, but they can't stop coming up with new ideas!\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for them is watching the printer in action. When they see their designs being built layer by layer, it feels like magic. One of my quieter students even designed a keychain and proudly presented it to the class—something she'd never done before. The confidence this technology has given her (and many others) is incredible.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity to learn, create, and dream big. In our classroom, we study the many ways drones can be used in society. As technology continues to shape our world, drones are being used as a \"green\" tool in the energy sector, particularly for renewable energy projects. They enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety in the inspection and maintenance of wind and solar farms, while also minimizing environmental impact. By learning to fly drones, my students are able to see themselves in the role of a drone pilot and imagine new possibilities for their future. Every new experience I can offer them expands their horizons and opens doors to opportunities they may not have considered before.\r\n\r\nIt was heartwarming to watch my students handle the drones with such care and curiosity. They were eager to learn everything about how to fly them and explore their capabilities. One of their favorite activities was using drone photos to create research projects showing how the use of drones reduces environmental impact—a project they took great pride in sharing.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this hands-on, engaging experience helped many students who often need extra redirection to truly excel.
