Many of them had struggled with transitions, spatial awareness, and knowing where to go for different activities. The rugs provided clear visual boundaries that defined each area of our room and made expectations easier to understand.\r\n\r\nFor example, the soft rug in our calming corner created a safe, cozy place for students to reset when emotions felt too big. The big rug served as a place for sensory breaks where our swing stand sat safely without shifting while students were on it. Other rugs help give clear defined areas for students to see as their work space. These simple visual cues reduced confusion and anxiety, helping students move through the day with more confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThe clearly designated spaces not only met sensory needs but also encouraged positive behavior, minimized distractions, and helped students feel safe and in control of their environment. I saw how much calmer and more engaged my students became once they knew exactly where to go and what to expect. Because of this project, we were able to create a classroom where every child felt they belonged and could thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping us design a space that worked with their needs, not against them.","fullyFundedDate":1748546959046,"projectUrl":"project/rugs-to-support-structure-and-clarity-in/9380505/","projectTitle":"Rugs to Support Structure and Clarity in a SPED Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lloyd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4499095_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717606235788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4499095"},{"teacherId":4499095,"projectId":9335291,"letterContent":"This project truly changed the atmosphere of our classroom. When my students walked in and see the fresh, colorful boards and welcoming displays, their faces lit up—they immediately felt that this was a space made just for them. The Better Than Paper bulletin boards made it so easy to showcase their work, and they beam with pride when they see their accomplishments on display.\r\n\r\nThe small touches have made a big difference too. The tennis ball leg covers keep our room calm and quiet, which has helped several of my students who get overwhelmed by noise stay more focused and comfortable during lessons. \r\n\r\nBut my favorite part has been the postcards and motivational pieces. Each morning, my students are reminded that they are valued, capable, and celebrated. Those little notes of encouragement have boosted their confidence and set the tone for positive days.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, our classroom has become more than just a room—it's a safe, supportive space where my students feel seen, encouraged, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1747829486985,"projectUrl":"project/welcoming-environment-for-all-learners/9335291/","projectTitle":"Welcoming Environment For ALL Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lloyd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4499095_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717606235788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4499095"},{"teacherId":4499095,"projectId":9151100,"letterContent":"Your support truly changed the atmosphere of my classroom!\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, I was able to create laminated visual schedules and task cards that my students used every day. One of my students, who used to feel lost during transitions, proudly checked his Velcro schedule and moved to the next activity without needing reminders. That small tool gave him independence and confidence that we celebrated together.\r\n\r\nThe noise-canceling headphones were a game-changer for several of my learners. One student who often covered her ears during group lessons was finally able to participate calmly without distractions. She told me, \"It's quiet now, I can think!\" The visual timers also helped students understand how much time they had left, which made transitions smoother and reduced anxious behaviors.\r\n\r\nOur new storage bins and organized workstations made it easier for students to know exactly where materials were, and they stayed on task more often. I saw students beam with pride when they could complete a workstation on their own and then move their piece to the \"finished\" side of their Velcro chart.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my classroom became a calmer, more structured, and empowering space. The tools you provided didn't just help with academics — they gave my students independence, confidence, and the chance to celebrate their own success each day.","fullyFundedDate":1746787350623,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-special-education-students-wi/9151100/","projectTitle":"Empowering Special Education Students With Essential Classroom Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lloyd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4499095_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717606235788","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4499095"},{"teacherId":4499095,"projectId":9148210,"letterContent":"Thank You for Supporting Our Classroom!\r\n\r\nI am beyond grateful for your generosity in funding our DonorsChoose project.
