We use them to explore steady beat, melodic patterns, and simple accompaniments. They will also be so useful in the future for any Orff-style programs we perform. One especially meaningful moment was watching students play together during class, and how excited they were that each student had their own instrument. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new instruments, they were very excited. Many students couldn't wait to take turns playing and were instantly more engaged and focused than usual. Having real, high-quality instruments made them feel important, and that sense of ownership has carried into their music-making ever since.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include using the xylophones for student-created compositions, where students will work in small groups to build their own melodies and accompaniments. We are currently connecting these instruments to lessons on form and improvisation, allowing students to make musical choices and express themselves creatively. Thanks to you, my students aren't just learning about music, they are truly making it. Thank you for helping create meaningful, joyful learning experiences that my students will remember for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1764699154754,"projectUrl":"project/building-musical-foundations-with-orff-i/9864361/","projectTitle":"Building Musical Foundations with Orff Instruments","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wiernicki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10335651_orig.jpg?crop=1155,1155,x0,y103&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761745795452","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10335651"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19295","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":339,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":30,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.4,"schoolId":19295,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Central Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Central Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/lebanon-community-school-district/central-elementary-school/19295"}
