My students were SO excited when they saw all of the new snacks and drinks. It may seem like something small, but to them, getting to visit the classroom store and pick out something they earned is a pretty big deal. It has already brought so much excitement and motivation into our classroom!\r\n\r\nStudents earn classroom money by working hard, being kind, making good choices, and showing responsibility. They can then decide whether they want to spend their money at the store or save it for something they really want. I love that something as fun as choosing a favorite snack or drink also gives us the chance to practice real-life skills like saving, budgeting, and making responsible choices. And of course, they love getting rewarded for all of their hard work!\r\n\r\nWe will continue using our classroom store throughout the year to celebrate the little wins, encourage positive choices, and give my students something fun to work toward. Seeing how proud they are when they have earned enough to buy something makes this teacher's heart happy! They immediately wanted to try the different seating options, and it was wonderful to see them take ownership of choosing a space where they could focus and do their best work. Having access to charged devices has also made a big difference. Students can now spend more time learning, researching, collaborating, and completing digital assignments without interruptions caused by low batteries.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students work together on classroom projects while using the flexible seating to find a space that works best for them. My students used Sphero Bolt that our school already owned and we created a recreation of a major Indiana event-the Indianapolis 500. They used plastic cups and craft supplies to build a model of their zombie. Then they programmed their Zombie Sphero Bolt to race against the other zombies in their class on our race track. There was a lot of laughter as they problem solved and a little trash talk as they grew more confident in their codes. \r\n\r\nThanks to you my students were able to practice so many great skills: reading, writing, coding, math, science, problem solving, teamwork, communication.
