The pencils, erasers, and especially the high-quality sharpeners have become part of our daily routine, and the students were genuinely excited to help organize everything when it arrived. They were eager to try the sharpeners and noticed immediately how much smoother and easier they were to use. It might seem like a small thing, but having reliable materials has helped our classroom run more smoothly and has made students feel proud and responsible for taking care of shared resources.\r\n\r\nOne of the main projects we've completed using these supplies was our cell phone composition drawing. Over the course of about a week and a half, students filled their pages with overlapping cell phones and then drew anything they wanted inside each \"screen.\" The pencils allowed them to focus on details, clean lines, and shading, and the erasers gave them confidence to revise their work without fear of making mistakes. The excitement was obvious—students were highly engaged, took creative risks, and loved showing each other their imaginative phone screens.\r\n\r\nNext, we are building on this project by moving into more refined drawing and design skills, including adding color, discussing composition choices, and reflecting on how visual storytelling works. Students will continue practicing careful craftsmanship and creative thinking, using these materials every step of the way. Thanks to our donors, students have what they need to stay focused, confident, and excited about learning, and we are so grateful for the support that helps make these meaningful classroom moments possible.","fullyFundedDate":1769177537712,"projectUrl":"project/sharpeners-for-the-sharpest-students/9829939/","projectTitle":"Sharpeners for the Sharpest Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Culpepper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10305258_orig.png?crop=640,640,x0,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760377244583","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10305258"},{"teacherId":9923427,"projectId":9813663,"letterContent":"Thanks to this project, my students now have consistent access to essential classroom supplies like pencils, lined paper, Expo markers, and dry erase pouches. We are using these materials daily for bell ringers, guided practice, quick checks for understanding, and small-group activities. The dry erase pouches and markers have been especially helpful for allowing students to practice skills, make mistakes, and revise their thinking without fear—something that has greatly increased participation and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen I told them what was donated, my students were genuinely excited. Many of them immediately commented on how nice it would be to have new materials that belonged to our classroom and were ready for everyone to use. Having enough supplies for all students removed a lot of stress and distractions, allowing them to focus fully on learning rather than worrying about whether they had what they needed.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to support our current and upcoming lessons as students work on writing, analysis, and collaborative activities. The dry erase pouches will be used for interactive lessons and review games, while the pencils and paper ensure students are always prepared to engage in meaningful work. Because of your support, my students now have access to computer chargers, headphones with microphones, and power strips—items that have already made a meaningful difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nThe computer chargers have been exceptionally helpful. Many of my classes are Resource periods, where students are expected to use this time to complete classwork and get extra academic support. Having chargers readily available removes a major barrier to productivity—students no longer have an excuse for unfinished work due to a dead device. In fact, the chargers are being used so frequently that several are already showing wear from constant use. I've even been able to share them with other teachers, and my classroom has become a sort of charging hub for students throughout the day, including those who are not in my classes.\r\n\r\nThe headphones with microphones have also been incredibly valuable. They allowed my students to practice listening and speaking in English as they prepared for their recent WIDA English language proficiency assessment. While not all students were initially thrilled with my color choice, they have grown comfortable using them regularly. The headphones have also helped students stay focused by blocking out distractions, and in some cases, listening to music while working has improved their concentration and engagement.\r\n\r\nFinally, the power strips were the perfect addition to our classroom setup. By attaching them to a few tables, multiple students are able to charge their devices at the same time, making the space more efficient and student-friendly.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has had an immediate and visible impact on my students' ability to learn, focus, and succeed. Each student now has a composition notebook that we use as a personal math journal. These notebooks hold worked examples, problem-solving steps, vocabulary, and other notes. I've noticed students referring back to earlier pages on their own and using their notes to guide their thinking. This is something that didn't happen as often as before.\r\n\r\nThe first time I used the PAKOTOO document camera in math, students were instantly hooked. Seeing math problems modeled for the students and being able to project a student's work for the whole class to see made learning feel exciting and supportive for the whole class. One of my favorite moments was a student proudly walking up to share their strategy under the camera while classmates asked questions and offered encouragement. The Tripp Lite docking station has helped lessons run more smoothly. It makes teaching easier to switch between digital and hands on learning. \r\n\r\nThe tape and different colors of Astrobright paper have added more fun and creativity to our math notebooks by being able to make foldables, etc. that makes it easier for students to spot when they are looking for something specific. Thanks to all of you, these resources are now an everyday part of our math routine. Your generosity has helped turn math into something my students feel more confident, capable, and excited about and that is a gift that will last far beyond this school year. They will be able to take these notebooks with them to the high school next year as a resource and for that I am forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1760025178566,"projectUrl":"project/small-supplies-big-impact-math-noteboo/9631160/","projectTitle":"Small Supplies, Big Impact: Math Notebook Materials Request","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gibbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10035675_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753529865925","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10035675"},{"teacherId":9846084,"projectId":9801102,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the materials for my sensory classroom.
